The Order of the Stick: No Cure for the Paladin Blues
by Rich Burlew

The Order of the Stick is back in action (and in color!) in this second volume compiling the popular fantasy gaming satire webcomic in convenient book format. Watch in amazement as The Order of the Stick, everyone's favorite band of hopelessly incompetent adventurers, leaves the dungeon behind (probably a good idea, considering they blew it up anyway) and ventures out into the great outdoors. Thrill to encounters with bandits, dragons, assassins, and perhaps the most terrifying of all--paladins! Watch in amazement as the Order of the Stick finds itself caught between the forces of Good and Less-Than-Good as their stupid little adventure turns into a stupid epic adventure to save their very world!

What's in No Cure for the Paladin Blues, you ask?

  • A hefty 244 pages of full color comedy; that's a full half-inch thick!
  • Printed on high-quality paper to ensure your book lasts longer than the current edition of the rules it satirizes.
  • Enjoy 14 all-new bonus strips that fit in (mostly) seamlessly with the existing story.
  • Skip past more than 12 pages of self-absorbed author commentary.
  • Foreward by Scott Kurtz, creator of the webcomic PVP.
  • Preface by Vaarsuvius, elven wizard.
  • A detailed recap of the events of Dungeon Crawlin' Fools by Elan the Bard.
  • And yes, the book contains a complete translation for all of Haley's cryptograms.

Release Date: The Order of the Stick: No Cure for the Paladin Blues will be available in retail stores in late September. (Retailers and distributors, contact Aldo Ghiozzi to carry GITP products at 925-240-0862.)

Sneak Previews: But wait! The Giant in the Playground booth at the Origins Expo (Columbus, OH, June 29-July 2) and GenCon Indy (Indianapolis, IN, August 10-13) will have extremely limited numbers of the book on sale, as many as four months before stores carry it! Pick up your book early and get it signed by Rich Burlew, the creator of OOTS, to guarantee four blissful months of lording it over your friends and loved ones.

The Order of the Stick Adventure Game: The Dungeon of Dorukan
by Kevin Brusky and Rich Burlew

Why just read about incompetent adventurers when you can BE one? Giant in the Playground Games and APE Games announce joint production of the first game based on the wildly popular fantasy comedy webcomic, The Order of the Stick. In this board game that thinks it's a card game (or is that a card game that thinks it's a board game?), players choose one of the six less-than-stalwart heroes to fight, beg, borrow, and steal their way through a dungeon teeming with monsters in a quest to knock off the lich Xykon and get away safely. From 2-6 players (ages 12 and up) compete for the ultimate prize: bragging rights over your teammates!

Things that are cool about this game:

  • Train your character in a variety of shticks from their personalized deck. Each of the six playable characters is a different gaming experience, from the cooperative play of Elan to the PvP antics of Belkar.
  • Build the dungeon as you go—-the game board is never the same twice. (Well, actually, it could be the same every, like, trillion games, I guess.)
  • Choose which monsters other players will face in battle, but watch out--the monsters can band together to turn the tables on everyone.
  • Trade your unearthed loot to other players for their assistance in cooperative play, or stab them in the back and run off with their stuff. It's your choice.
  • More than 500 full-color cards!
  • Two 12-sided dice, because we felt sorry for them!
  • An all-new 8-page The Order of the Stick comic in which Roy teaches the other members of the OOTS the rules of the game (with hilarious results).

Release Date: The Order of the Stick Adventure Game: The Dungeon of Dorukan will be available in retail stores in August 2006, after debuting at GenCon Indy. (Retailers and distributors, contact Aldo Ghiozzi to carry GITP and APE Games products at 925-240-0862.)

Pre-Orders: The APE Games website store will be accepting direct pre-orders starting July 5th, 2006, to be shipped when the game is released in August.

Retail Price: $39.95 (Stock Number APE0600)
