DC will awaken in a perfectly healthy condition. There's not even a single sign of injury to him. Any scars he may of sustained in the past, as well as any diseases will be gone. He'll find himself in a pitch dark wetland of sorts. There's no real light past a natural glow that he seems to have developed suddenly. It's not bright, but it's not completely dim either. He'd be able to see about fifteen feet ahead of himself in complete darkness.

There are no trees, no nothing. It's just dark, and wet. The grass below him almost seem like they are feeling him, attempting to grow around him or something.

In the far distance there's a single other light. It appears to be high in the air, or possibly on a mountain. A mountain? Considering the terrain, that seems odd.

Wh-where...

DC checks to see if he has his usual equipment. You know, weapons and stuff.

Boo

If he had them on him during the feast, then yes. Yes he does.

In that case, he pulls out a certain dagger. In this near-total darkness, the blade is practically invisible.

DC heads for the other light source. He floats there, of course, since it's high up.

Boo

Upon his floating, he'll see a few other light sources amongst the darkness. But these ones were much farther away, and thus likely to be ignored. They were almost like stars, except on the horizon instead of above.

If DC ignores the other lights, turn to page 5. If DC decides to chase one of the lights, turn to page 231.

DC ignores the new ones, opting to head for the one closest to him.

Right, fine, ignore the adventure book references... :smallsigh::smalltongue:

He'll eventually find himself in front of a man. A very old man. His hair is long, white, and an unclean sort of messy. His teeth are yellow and crooked. His eyes are a dull brown, as if he were without hope. Without mind even. Possibly without life. He's quite pale, but that can be understood considering his surrounding.

He sits on a mountain. Well, it's kinda a mountain. Okay, more like a very large mound. ...of corpses.

He raises his head from his possible slumber, and looks at DC directly. In a familiar voice, he speaks. "Trespasser..." The man stands, continuing to stare at DC.

Darkcomet
2008-12-31, 12:36 AM
Wh-who are you?

It's fairly obvious from the stuttering and tone of voice that DC is scared out of his wits right now.

Boo
2008-12-31, 12:40 AM
"Trespasser..." It's becoming fairly obvious that the man has little to no mind left to think for himself. He's just an empty shell of a man, his consciousness elsewhere. "Trespasser..." He continues, stepping down from his spot, keeping his eyes locked on DC. His hands seem to glow past his and DC's shared natural light.

DC floats backwards, adopting a combat stance with the dagger.

DC's face=:smalleek:.

Luckily for DC, the man cannot fly. All he can do is... well... read this, and you'll figure it out yourself.

With a sharp jolt of his arm, the man fires a beam of fire at DC. This is unlike fireball, and more like a ranged punch. It's very odd to see, but DC doesn't exactly have time to say 'cool' or 'is that a spell?', no. He's going to be busy avoiding a column of fire quickly heading his way.

Darkcomet

DC floats to the side, avoiding the fire.

What the...!?

DC attempts to telekinetically lift the man into the air. If successful, he'll try to hold him out over the distant ground, as if ready to drop him.

Boo

DC succeeds, but the man persists by throwing another two fire beams at him. This one, although easy enough to avoid, has a bit of splash to it.

Darkcomet

DC flies out of the way, but is singed a little by the splash.

D-do that again and I'll drop you! :smalleek:

Boo

His warning goes unheard as the man throws one more attack his way. Same as before, all fiery and splashy and columny. "Trespasser!" He yells once more.

Darkcomet
2008-12-31, 12:57 AM
DC is singed again. It's still nothing particularly bad.

DC drops him.

He falls from where he was held, and usually this is where you'd see people write 'he lands on his feet' which could make sense, but no. That's boring. Instead, he lands on one of his feet, slipping immediately after thanks to the velocity of his descent, and lands on his back. He hits his head on the elbow of a corpse, but isn't knocked out as easily as others. He begins to rise as if nothing had happened. As if he didn't fall, but instead just sat down. If DC doesn't do something with him, then he'll be attacking once more. Although, it may be a bit worse now.

DC pulls out the ion cannon and fires it down at him. Stubborn mindless old guy. Of course, DC is too terrified of what's going on to express annoyance right now.

Boo

A hole is burned through the mans chest. The beam destroys a large portion of his right lung, leaving him to suffocate to death. There's no stopping this from happening, of course, why would DC care? He's just trying to survive, right? He doesn't care who he kills, even if it's obvious they cannot think for themselves. No, not even if he just talked to a man with the same voice as this one. Sharing the same frame as the creature that devoured him, but quite obviously not the same mind.

The man falls back down, gasping for what little air he has left. He reaches into his ragged pocket, and pulls out a trinket. It seems strange that he's holding it up. It's like he's expecting someone to take it from him.

Below DC are the sounds of a thousand creatures marching towards the corpse mound. Did he kill a guardian of something?

Darkcomet

What's going on...? :smalleek:

DC hovers down, closer to the noise, trying to see what it is.

Boo
2008-12-31, 01:20 AM
Well, that's just what it is. A thousand or so creatures marching towards the mound. The mans arm grows lifeless. It appears he's died in this brief time, not having enough air to supply more than a few seconds. He may have had something to say, but now we'll never know. As his glow fades, the roar of the crowd grows.

Darkcomet
2008-12-31, 01:22 AM
DC stares at the crowd of creatures, not knowing what to do.

Boo
2008-12-31, 01:26 AM
Right, well, they continue marching. The army of beasts and human and whatever else your mind can muster are not beginning to climb the mound. They are quite frantic in their actions, and every now and then DC can make out what they are saying. "The jewel is mine!" "finally, he's gone!" "It's been so long!"

Darkcomet
2008-12-31, 01:28 AM
Uh... What's going on?

DC asks this to no one in particular, hoping he'll get an answer from someone.

Boo
2008-12-31, 01:31 AM
His question goes on deaf ears. Everyone is too concentrated on retrieving item from the dead man. Still, he can hear more. "I'll rip him apart if I have to!" "I'm going to eat his heart!" "The jewel is mine! I will escape this place!" They are inching ever so closer.

Darkcomet
2008-12-31, 01:32 AM
DC, starting to get the picture, floats over to the man's corpse, and tries to take the trinket he held up.

Boo

It's tightly held, but with a bit of work, it's wedged free. It's a simple looking thing, really. A necklace carrying a blue jewel. DC can practically feel heat flowing out of it with all the magic inside. I'd suggest using it as a heater to save on gas, but unfortunately, this is a very delicate item, and a jeweler wouldn't be able to tell it's worth any more than a diamond.

The screams of the crowd halt, and so does the marching. They all gaze upon DC in hope. After a brief silence, the cries of help can be heard from various parts of the army, then all of it. "Free us!" "Destroy it!" "Smash it!" Only a few ask for the opposite, but those ones are quickly dealt with. Violently.

Darkcomet
2008-12-31, 01:42 AM
DC, realizing that he's just as much a prisoner here as the people in the crowd, throws it into the air, and fires an ion blast at it.

Boo

The item is destroyed quite easily, however the resulting explosion is not so fun. In a great white light, the entire dimension is destroyed. The only thing left is DC floating aimlessly in nothingness. All but him, and a door are gone. This door, it's simple. Wooden, no locks, no keyholes, no nothing. Just a knob to turn, and a place to enter. It seems that everyone else was not as fortunate as him. They did not understand that only the victor survives.

Darkcomet
2008-12-31, 01:51 AM
DC shields his eyes from the explosion of light, then floats to the door, and hesitates for a second. Where could it lead? But... It can't be any worse than where he already is.

DC tries to open the door.

Boo

The door leads back to GLoG. Well it could. Or it could lead to an impossible chain of questions that are immature and very stupid, yet somehow gained popularity over the internet because of these factors. But no, it's the former. It leads back to GLoG.

DC sees this, and runs inside, too happy to be alive to shut it behind him.
