i have a question as a DM.

i think my players are chewing through my encounters way too easily because i've miscalculated how much their magic items cost.

so, if you have a +2 weapon and want to add the flaming (which is a +1 enhancement) property, does this make it the price of a +3 weapon? or does it only cost the 2000 gold to add a +1 enhancement?

i've been doing it the latter way, opbviously, and my players seem overpowered for their lack of tactics.

Yes, the bonus cost is added to the enhancement bonus before determining the cost ... one of the reason most people don't put more than a +1 enhancement bonus on their weapons, GMW can add enhancement bonus but it can't add special abilities.

So, if you have a +2 weapon and wants to upgrade it you pay the difference between a +3 weapon and a +2 weapon (18.000 - 8.000 = 10.000).
