The orc pulls you through the door and throws you to the ground in front of a man, dressed in a black shirt over black trousers and black leather boots. A black sash encircles his waist. He is a young man, in his late twenties, perhaps, with green eyes that regard you cooly, without malice, as he sits in his sturdy wooden chair.
"This is the one, Your Lordship," the orc says. "The one who killed the overseer for the lumber detail."
Thank you. That will be all, Lord Iames dismisses the orc, who bows and leaves. Lord Iames gets out of his chair, walks over to you, and helps you up. So, he says, you attacked an overseer. His eyes pulse violet in rhythm with the words flowing into your mind. That is a severe offense. Still, the ultimate terms of your punishment are up to me. He trails off and turns away. I can tell you have spirit. I have a use for one such as you. He turns back to face you. You recall the work force that was taken to work in the mines? There's been some trouble down there with subterranean monsters. You'll be given training and equipment, and sent down with some others to clean up. But,fair warning: Leave the overseers alone. If you see them mistreating a worker and intervene without killing the overseer, I'll be more than happy to ignore the incident. But kill another overseer, and I'll make sure you regret it for the rest of your very short life. His eyes go yellow, and a malevolent smile touches his lips as the words pulse yellow in his eyes and in your brain: Trust me on that.

Child of Passion:
Fractured Mind (Ex): For reasons not quite understood but definitely related to his being the Child of Passion, Iames has three distinct splinter personalities: the Dark, the Light, and "just-Iames". The Dark (CE Telepath) and the Light (NG Wilder) are intensifications of Iames's sadistic, predatory instincts and his loving, compassionate nature, respectively, while "just-Iames", the primary personality, is everything else. Since each splinter personality shares the others' experiences, the Dark's and the Light's class levels advance in step with "just-Iames's"; however, Iames gains only 80% of the normal number of experience points. For the purposes of determining base attack bonus, save bonuses, and HD, use "just-Iames's" class level. Each splinter personality has its own mental ability scores, skills, feats, and languages, which are marked (D) for the Dark and (L) for the Light. Unmarked ability scores, skills, and feats are "just-Iames's". Iames's Challenge Rating is equal to 1.5 x Hit Dice (round down) + 2. Iames can switch between splinter personalities as a free action. When Iames is subject to a schism effect, his mind splits into three parts, and he does not suffer any loss of ML.
Cherished Memory (Su): Once per day as a full-round action which provokes attacks of opportunity, Iames can copy and absorb part of another being's psyche. In order to do so, Iames must establish physical and telepathic contact with his intended target and maintain contact for the round. Iames must then make a Concentration check against DC 20. If the check fails or the physical or telepathic contact is broken, the attempt fails and the ability is spent for the day. His target then makes a Will save against a DC of 10 + 1/2 Iames's VD + Iames the Light's Charisma modifier. Unconscious and/or dying targets automatically fail their Will saves. If the target's Will save fails, Iames can copy one of the following from the target's mind:
• A feat possessed by the target which A) Iames does not possess, B) stacks with itself, or C) pertains to a different skill or weapon than the feat Iames already possesses. Iames need not meet any prerequisites of the feat in order to absorb it, though he cannot use the feat until he meets the prerequistes, as normal.
• A skill possessed by the target. Iames gains ranks in that skill equal to the difference between the target's ranks and the ranks he currently possesses, but only up to the maximum number of ranks in that skill that he could normally possess.
• A psionic power known by the target and of a level that Iames can manifest, even if it is from another class and/or specialty.
Channel Passion (Su): As the Child of Passion, Iames is capable of psionically channeling pure positive energy or pure negative energy when manifesting an energy power. Positive (or negative) energy deals +3 points of damage per die to undead (or living) creatures, while living (or undead) creatures are healed an equivalent amount. Any amount healed in excess of a creature's normal HP is added to HP as temporary HP. Each round in which a creature has temporary HP as a result of receiveing positive or negative energy in this way, that creature must make a Fortitude save against a DC equal to the difference between their normal HP and their current HP. On a failed save, the creature explodes due to an overload of energy and is dead. For the purposes of detect evil and similar spells, Iames possesses auras as if he were an outsider. Finally, as an embodiment of the power of passion, Iames's wild surge, surging euphoria, and volatile mind abilities function 1 point higher than normal, and his psychic enervation ability is modified as follows: instead of becoming dazed and losing power points, Iames may choose to take 1d8 points of damage per manifester level added. Iames’s manifester level is equal to his HD.
Epic Destiny (Su): Once the conditions laid out by the Prophecy of the Child of Passion are fulfilled, Iames gains divine rank 21. The resulting changes in Iames's statistics are presented here (http://www.giantitp.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=homebrew;action=display;num=11566972 20;start=0#14).
Kazejutsu style (http://www.giantitp.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?action=display;board=homebrew;num=11545714 26;start=0#8) (Ex): Iames receives a +2 style bonus on Jump checks, does not provoke attacks of opportunity when using Spring Attack, and when using Spring Attack, he gains a +8 style bonus on damage.
Damaged Throat (E): Iames's throat was severely injured in the past, and as a result he finds it difficult and painful to speak. Any time that Iames vocalizes, he takes 1d8 points of nonlethal damage. A DC 20 Concentration check reduces the damage by half, to a minimum of 1 point.
Telepathy (Su): Iames has learned to communicate telepathically in order to avoid speaking aloud. He can communicate telepathically with any creaure within 100 ft. with whom he shares a language.
Abilities: Iames has a +5 inherent bonus to each of his ability scores.

Iames and his splinter personalities worship no particular deity. He has black hair, and his eyes change color depending on which splinter personality is in control at the moment. “Just-Iames’s” eyes are green, the Dark’s yellow, and the Light’s violet. When the Dark or the Light uses a psionic power, his eyes glow yellow or violet, respectively. Iames is 6’2” and weighs 216 lb. He speaks Abyssal, Auran, Celestial, Common, Draconic, and Elven, and can communicate with any creature with a language.

In all honesty, these are what my stats would be at the end of my novel (http://www.giantitp.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?action=display;board=arts;num=1155156328;s tart=0#11) (still unfinished). At the beginning, my stats look like this (http://www.giantitp.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=Contests;action=display;num=11491794 64).
[hr]
Anyway, here's some flavor for you all...

Child of Passion,
His Destiny Great,
Trains in the Halls
Of the Wind and his mate.

The Wind and his mate,
A daughter have they,
A daughter In aer,
And they teach her their way.

Together, the daughter
And the Child are trained;
Together, they are taught
By the Wind and the Flame.

The Child of Passion
Loves Wind’s daughter In aer,
For they trained side-by-side
And He deems her fair.

The Child and the daughter
Sent on two different quests;
One’s challenge is slaughter,
The other’s are best.

Having failed in His mission,
He discovers His Hate,
Dividing His heart
And setting His Fate.

He flees to the Dark One
And His service He swears
As long as unharmed
Is Wind’s daughter In aer.

The First and the best
Must give up their name,
Abandon their childhood,
Leave behind children’s games.

The First and the best,
Their own selves must re-form;
Thus the Children of Destiny
From In aer are reborn.

While the Child of Passion
By the Dark One’s side stands,
All Tyrath shall turn ashen
As Evil spreads o’er the lands.

The Children of Destiny
To the Craven Ones flee;
For a half-score of years,
They in exile shall be.

For a half-score of years
Shall the Dark rule the land;
For the Seven have hidden
From the Dark One's dread hand.

When the Hour draws nigh,
In aer shall return
With Dragons and Craven,
And allies unheard.

When the Hour draws nigh,
In aer shall return
All hope shall be high,
Yet her love she shall spurn.

Emerge shall the Seven
To rally the lands
To o'erthrow the Dark One
Or die at His hands.

The Children of Destiny
Hunt down the Dark's thralls;
Every pawn they destroy
Brings them nearer his Halls.

When In aer is struck down
By the Foe of the Light,
The Child of Passion
Shall awaken His might.

Child of Passion,
Of Love and of Hate,
Of Cruelty and Kindness,
Of Darkness and Light.

Which path shall be chosen?
Which path will He take?
That of Love and of Kindness
Or of Cruelty and Hate?

-- the Prophecy of the Child of Passion, given by the High Seer Palanya in 5937 Elven Date

Challenge Rating: Included with Iames
Treasure: None
Alignment: N

*With self-propulsion ability activated.

Combat
Iames's psicrystal almost never acts in combat with Iames. Iames does occaisonally use his psicrystal for espionage purposes, willing it self-propulsion and flight every day when he does so.

Construct Traits: Iames's psicrystal has immunity to poison, sleep, paralysis, stunning, disease, death effects, necromancy effects, mind-affecting effects (charms, compulsions, phantasms, patterns, and morale effects), and any effect that requires a Fortitude save unless it also works on objects or is harmless. It is not subject to critical hits, nonlethal damage, ability damage, ability drain, fatigue, exhaustion, or energy drain. It cannot heal damage, but it can be repaired. Psicrystals do not have the usual construct traits of darkvision and low-light vision.

Psicrystal Granted Abilities:
Iames's psicrystal the special abilities of self-propulsion, alertness, improved evasion, share powers, telepathic link, sighted, and personality (If its master chooses not to activate the self-propulsion ability, the psicrystal reverts to a speed of 0 feet and has no Strength score and no Dexterity score.)

Alertness (Ex)
The presence of Iames's psicrystal sharpens his senses. While Iames's psicrystal is within arm’s reach (adjacent to or in the same square as Iames), Iames gains the Alertness feat.

Improved Evasion (Ex)
If Iames's psicrystal is subjected to an attack that normally allows a Reflex saving throw for half damage, it takes no damage if it makes a successful saving throw and half damage even if the saving throw fails.

Personality (Ex)
Iames's psicrystal has the nimble personality, granting Iames a +2 bonus on Initiative checks.

Self-Propulsion (Su)
As a standard action, Iames can will his psicrystal to form spidery, ectoplasmic legs that grant the psicrystal a land speed of 30 feet and a climb speed of 20 feet. The legs fade into nothingness after one day (or sooner, if the owner desires).

Share Powers (Su)
At Iames’s option, he can have any power (but not any psi-like ability) he manifests on himself also affect his psicrystal. The psicrystal must be within 5 feet of him at the time of the manifestation to receive the benefit. If the power has a duration other than instantaneous, it stops affecting the psicrystal if it moves farther than 5 feet away, and will not affect the psicrystal again, even if it returns to Iames before the duration expires.

Additionally, Iames can manifest a power with a target of “You” on his psicrystal (as a touch range power) instead of on himself. Iames and psicrystal cannot share powers if the powers normally do not affect creatures of the psicrystal’s type (construct).

Sighted (Ex)
Although it has no physical sensory organs, Iames's psicrystal can telepathically sense its environment as well as a creature with normal vision and hearing. Darkness (even supernatural darkness) is irrelevant, as are areas of supernatural silence, though a psicrystal still can’t discern invisible or ethereal beings. A psicrystal’s sighted range is 40 feet.

Telepathic Link (Su)
Iames has a telepathic link with his psicrystal out to a distance of up to 1 mile. Iames cannot see through his psicrystal’s senses, but the two of them can communicate telepathically as if the psicrystal were the target of a mindlink power manifested by the owner. For instance, if Iames's psicrystal was placed in a distant room, it could relay the activities occurring in that room to Iames.

Because of the telepathic link between Iames and his psicrystal, Iames has the same connection to an item or place that his psicrystal does. For instance, if his psicrystal has seen a room, Iames can teleport into that room as if he has seen it too.

Deliver Touch Powers (Su)
Iames's psicrystal can deliver touch powers for him. If Iames and psicrystal are in contact at the time Iames manifests a touch power, he can designate his psicrystal as the “toucher.” The psicrystal can then deliver the touch power just as Iames could. As usual, if Iames manifests another power before the touch is delivered, the touch power dissipates.

Telepathic Speech (Ex)
Iames's psicrystal can communicate telepathically with any creature that has a language and is within 30 feet of the psicrystal, while the psicrystal is also within 1 mile of Iames.

Flight (Su)
Iames can, as a standard action, will his psicrystal to fly at a speed of 50 feet (poor). The psicrystal drifts gently to the ground after one day (or sooner, if the owner desires).

Power Resistance (Ex)
Iames's psicrystal gains power resistance 25. To affect the psicrystal with a power, another manifester must get a result on a manifester level check that equals or exceeds the psicrystal’s power resistance.

Sight Link (Sp)
Iames can remote view his psicrystal (as if manifesting the remote view power) once per day.

Channel Power (Sp)
Iames can manifest powers through the psicrystal to a distance of up to 1 mile. The psicrystal is treated as the power’s originator, and all ranges are calculated from its location.

When channeling a power through his psicrystal, Iames manifests the power by paying its power point cost. He is still subject to attacks of opportunity and other hazards of manifesting a power, if applicable (for instance, he becomes visible when manifesting an offensive power if invisible, as does the psicrystal).

Skills
A psicrystal (with its self-propulsion ability activated) uses its Dexterity modifier instead of its Strength modifier on Climb checks. It has a +8 racial bonus on Climb checks and can always choose to take 10, even if rushed or threatened.

With sixty class levels, I'd say there's a lot more than 163 HP and 32 CR in there.

Lord Iames Osari
2006-09-10, 11:29 PM
Ah, yes, but this is an Uber-Chosen-One-Gestalt build. ;D It works like a gestalt (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/gestaltCharacters.htm), only with three sets of classes rather than two. So I only get hp from my 20 Monk Hit Dice, seeing as how they're the largest (d8s as opposed to d4s and d6s). So, while he has special abilities as a 60th level character, he has HD, hp, BAB, saves, and etc as a 20th-level character. Thus, his CR is 1.5 x HD +2, because he's far more powerful than a normal 20th-level character, but if he got into a fight with a 60th level character, he'd probably snuff it pretty quick due to the disparity in hp totals.

um gee this is a crazy thing youve built yourself right here, you just did this for sh%ts and giggles right, or did you want an MITP vote on it? and is it technically a creature or what..

Lord Iames Osari
2006-09-11, 01:50 AM
Oh, no this isn't in MitP. And it's not quite for ****s and giggles. He was gonna be an Epic Plot Device NPC in a D&D campaign that never finished... mostly because I realized that the plot I had involved too much railroading for a campaign. It will hopefully make a good novel (http://www.giantitp.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?action=display;board=arts;num=1155156328;s tart=0#11), though. ;)

To be honest, I never really expected to see people posting here. I figured the sheer amount and density of cheese would turn people off. I'm just deciding not to do things by halves (by which I mean, Iames and his thralls will be statted out).

So, none of those other classes are prestiges either then? Because that, as I'm sure you know, is another overpoweredmunchkinomigodhowcanyoudothat no-no. :)

Of course, as an NPC or a scripted character, munchkining isn't necessarily a bad thing and can sometimes be necessary (like the idiot NPC you forget is in the kill zone and who was necessary to the end-game) ;)

I'm not going to play the "my alter ego could crush your alter ego" game though, despite knowing mine's an epic caster... :)

Metamind (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/prestigeClasses/metamind.htm) and Thrallherd (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/prestigeClasses/thrallherd.htm) are psionic prestige class (from the XPH, not the other book). Metamind, because I needed a way to model him tapping into the total uberness of primal passion, and thrallherd pretty much because it seemed like a cool idea.

Gotcha... At any rate, you might want to reconsider his CR - he's got a lot of breadth of ability, but with those saves it's only a matter of time before someone gets him to save versus a DC 32 fortitude save (that's as in Elevated, 9th level Destruction from a cleric with a 28 wis). That, along with other similar events, is likely to happen against a party of about 21-24th level, let alone 30th to 32nd. A traditional gestalt character treats most CRs as about 1-2 lower than they are, so on that basis this guy at 20 total levels can't be past about a 22-23 at the top end, even mixing gestalts and prestiges the way he does. I'd tend to give him about a 22, myself.

Not every cleric is going to have that much wisdom at that level (even with items), but many sorcerers and wizards can prepare (or cast) sufficient True Strikes and Disintegrates to make up for any shortfall. Alternatively, he can save versus as many Horrid Wiltings as he can survive, starting at an 800-foot range. Coupled with dimension door, teleports and time stops a competent caster could rumble this guy at 20 if he got the right rolls. Just a thought. :)

Yeah, well, I still haven't fully equipped him. I should probably do that before I start on his thralls, huh? You think HD + 2 would do it?

fangthane
2006-09-11, 09:49 PM
Ahh, my bad, thought you'd just opted against the Cloak of Protection - if there's still some touches to be added he might prove to be more in the 23-24 range for CR - but at that low a HD and all the rest, if he's still limited to one round's worth of actions and has to choose it doesn't give him that much CR except insofar as it increases the number of save-or-die effects he can pull out in a day. Given that his DCs are fairly weak (DC 24 and under) they're not all that fearsome to a well-equipped level 22 party (+13 base, +5, + ability mod as a good save, +9 base otherwise)

Edit - Also, Cherished Memory needs to be limited in duration (in terms of how long he retains a feat so copied)

Powers Known (ML 41, save DC 28 + power level): All (See Mystic Force ability)

Iames’s manifester level is equal to his HD plus his divine rank; he does not add his divine rank as a bonus on manifester level checks.
Epic Destiny (Su): Once the conditions laid out by the Prophecy of the Child of Passion are fulfilled, Iames gains divine rank 21. The resulting changes in Iames's statistics are incorporated into these statistics.
Checks: Iames gets his divine rank as a divine bonus on all skill checks, ability checks, and turning checks. As a rank 21 deity, he always gets a result of 20 on any check, provided he needs to make a check at all.
Immunities: Iames is immune to polymorphing, petrification, or any other attack that alters his form; to energy drain, ability drain, or ability damage; to mind-affecting effects (unless he wants to be); to electricity, cold, and acid; to disease and poison, stunning, sleep, paralysis, and death effects, and disintegration; and to effects that imprison or banish him, such as banishment, binding, dimensional anchor, dismissal, imprisonment, repulsion, soul bind, temporal stasis, trap the soul, and turning and rebuking.
Immortality: Iames is naturally immortal and cannot die from natural causes. He does not age, and does not need to eat, sleep, or breathe. The only way for a him to die is through special circumstances, usually by being slain in magical or physical combat. He is not subject to death from massive damage.
Remote Sensing: Here. (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/divine/divineRanksAndPowers.htm#remoteSensing)
Senses: The range of Iames's senses extends out to a 21 mile radius from Iames.
Block Sensing: Here. (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/divine/divineRanksAndPowers.htm#blockSensing)
Divine Aura: Here. (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/divine/divineRanksAndPowers.htm#divineAura)

Remote Communication: Here. (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/divine/divineRanksAndPowers.htm#remoteCommunication)
Abilities: Iames has a +5 inherent bonus to each of his ability scores.
Mystic Force: Iames is a primal force of psionics. He knows all psonic powers in the Expanded Psionic Handbook/SRD and may know additional powers at the DM's option; he regains his powerpoints every 24 hours without need of rest, and if he attempts to manifest a power in or into an antimagic or null psionic field, he can make an opposed manifester level check against the field's caster or manifester; if the check is successful, the field is dismissed.
Avatar: (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/divine/divineAbilitiesFeats.htm#avatar) Iames can create up to 21 avatars.
Battlesense: (http://d20srd.org/srd/divine/divineAbilitiesFeats.htm#battlesense) Iames cannot be surprised or flanked except by a deity of higher rank. Iames retains his Dexterity bonus to Armor Class even if caught flat-footed or attacked by an invisible opponent, and is not subject to sneak attacks except by deities of higher rank.
Divine Monk: (http://d20srd.org/srd/divine/divineAbilitiesFeats.htm#divineMonk) Iames's unarmed strikes are treated as +5 keen vorpal chaotic, evil, good, and lawful-aligned weapons that deal slashing damage. Iames can choose to deal bludgeoning damage instead, but he loses the benefits of the keen and vorpal qualities. His unarmed strikes deal a base of 2d12 damage.
Energy Burst: (http://d20srd.org/srd/divine/divineAbilitiesFeats.htm#energyBurst) Iames can create an emanation of acid, cold, electricity, fire, negative, positive, or sonic energy with a radius of 10 feet per divine rank. Anything in the area takes 1d8 points of the appropriate energy damage per divine rank. Damage is halved for those who make successful saving throws (Reflex for acid, electricity, fire, negative, positive, or sonic, or Fortitude for cold energy; DC 35). The negative and positive energy versions of this ability follow the rules for energy powers given in the channel passion supernatural ability (The extra damage is already taken into account).
Energy Storm: (http://d20srd.org/srd/divine/divineAbilitiesFeats.htm#energyStorm) Iames can surround himself with a vortex of acid, cold, electricity, fire, sonic, positive, or negative energy. The vortex extends from Iames in an emanation with a radius of 210 feet. The effect stops attacks with thrown weapons and projectiles. Such attacks fail if made by creatures inside the area, or targeted at creatures within the area, or if their paths take them through the area. Energy storms that use acid, cold, electricity, fire, or sonic energy deal 21 points of energy damage and 21 points of holy or unholy damage each round. Positive energy deals 84 points of damage to undead creatures, and heals the same amount of damage on living creatures, following the rules given in the channel passion supernatural ability. Negative energy deals 84 points of negative energy to living creatures, and heals the same amount of damage on undead creatures, following the rules given in the channel passion supernatural ability.
Gift of Life: (http://d20srd.org/srd/divine/divineAbilitiesFeats.htm#giftOfLife) Iames can restore a dead creature to life, no matter how long the creature has been dead or what the condition of the body. This ability works like the true resurrection spell, except that there is no material component and the amount of time the subject has been dead is irrelevant. This ability can restore a creature to life against its will, but only with the permission of whatever deity rules the underworld or the divine realm where the mortal’s soul resides. This ability can resurrect an elemental or outsider and can resurrect a creature whose soul is trapped, provided the soul is not held by a deity of higher rank than Iames. This ability cannot restore life to a creature that has been slain by the Hand of Death ability or the Life and Death ability of a deity with a higher rank.
Hand of Death: (http://d20srd.org/srd/divine/divineAbilitiesFeats.htm#handOfDeath) Iames can point to any mortal within his sensory range and snuff out its life. There must be an unbroken line of effect between Iames and the target. This ability works like the destruction spell, except that there is no material component. The mortal is allowed a Fortitude saving throw with a DC of 59. Even if the save succeeds, the subject takes 10d6 points of damage, which may kill it anyway. If the attack kills the mortal (either through a failed saving throw or through damage), the mortal cannot be raised or resurrected afterward, except by a deity of equal or higher rank using the Gift of Life, Life and Death, or Mass Life and Death salient divine ability.
Irresistible Blows (Unarmed Strike): (http://d20srd.org/srd/divine/divineAbilitiesFeats.htm#irresistibleBlows) When Iames makes an unarmed strike against a creature, resolve the attack as a melee touch attack (the unarmed strike ignores armor and natural armor bonuses). If the unarmed strike hits, the creature struck must make a Fortitude save (DC 35) or be stunned for 1d10 rounds. Iames’s unarmed strikes are considered to be adamantine for purposes of bypassing damage reduction and hardness.
Divine Weapon Focus (Unarmed Strike): (http://d20srd.org/srd/divine/divineAbilitiesFeats.htm#divineWeaponFocus) This ability works like the Weapon Focus feat except that the deity receives a bonus of +4 on attacks with the weapon. This bonus stacks with the divine rank bonus Iames gets on attack rolls, and with the Weapon Focus feat.

Ok, now he's looking a little more buff. :) A couple of Greater Wishes would take the edge off but there's no way a barely-epic party is going to feed it to him now. I'd put this iteration closer to about a CR 27-28 or thereabouts; his save DCs max at 26 (level 9) which means that a character with good saves will, at 28, have a +12 (base) + 4 (epic) + 5 (stat) + 6 (resist item) and only fail them on an ace - but he's got a bazoodle of them to use, and seems bright enough to target casters with fortitude saves, etc. "Soft" targets will only have an 8 base (and likely only about a +3 or 4 stat) and will fail roughly 25% of the time.
If his psionics are interfered with (i.e. some epic effect prevents their use) his attack roll of +27 isn't going to hit any too reliably either, given that a fighter at that level (28 ) will have about a +3 (max under mith plate) dex, a +14 armor bonus from the +6 plate, a +10 bonus from his +6 mithril tower, a +5-6 natural and a +5-6 deflection for a total of roughly a 47 AC, give or take a couple. As my spreadsheet revealed to me, a rogue's AC at the same level is fairly close to that of a fighter so he won't be hitting anyone but casters if he's somehow 'damped' psionically.

Granted, such a tactic is only really feasible if a greater god is involved - but there's every reason to expect that such a god might be concerned about a newcomer horning in on his/her/their action.

A Time Stop and a few epic spells could certainly help even the odds a bit for a sufficiently dedicated hit team, but I doubt the Garrotte needs to send more than a quartet of 32's if someone really wants this guy toast - other than that whole deific powers thing. :)
Edit - stupid unintentional smileys...

Added Mystic Force special quality as a Salient Divine Ability. He can now dismiss antimagic and null psionic fields.

hahah I love it... I point out remaining weaknesses (well, the biggest ones), and they get shored up :) now you're cooking with gas :) Unless there's a deity helping the party in a rather more direct manner than usual... ;) but then, there's really NO way to rule that possibility out other than being the DM and simply not making it happen. I tell ya, I'd hate to meet the Dark in the wrong circumstances... I'd have to develop the Epic spell "Disrupt Deific Powers" in combination with a fair bunch more.

Edited because I realised I'd given this post smileyitis.

Well, I just picked his other 25 salient divine abilites (haven't added them in yet), but on the subject of direct aid from deities, I'll tell you about how my novel is supposed to end. SPOILERS! Do not read if you are at all interested in my novel (http://www.giantitp.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?action=display;board=arts;num=1155156328;s tart=0#11), The Tapestry of Fate: A Heart Divided.
Quick summary of what everyone who's read me already knows: Iames is a student at an adventuring school, and he and his buddies are on a mission. His buddies all die, and he discovers his CE side while wreaking vengeance on his friends' killers. This freaks him out and makes him afraid that his evil side might hurt Aerin, his schoolmate and crush. This anxiety lets the BBEG trick him into becoming the BBEG's servant. Aerin and her buddies go on adventures and bump into Iames several times. Begin spoilers: Aerin falls in love with Iames and they hook up. Eventually, the BBEG's plans are ready and he takes over that region of the world. Iames advises Aerin & Co. to flee to the lost island where the craven elves who fled the first-ever BBEG went. They do, get embroiled in elven politics, and after ten years put together an alliance of dragons, elves, and thri-kreen and go back to the BBEG's region. A big epic war ensues. Eventually, Aerin & Co. make it to the BBEG's throne room, where Iames and some others are guarding the BBEG (who's achieved godhead by this point). There is an epic dramatic fight scene, which devolves into Iames and a few other minions holding of & Co. while Aerin is fighting a whole bunch of minions. She gets through them and is headed for the BBEG, whose powers aren't slowing Aerin down. The BBEG panics and orders Iames to kill Aerin. (The terms of Iames's service state that if Aerin dies because the BBEG ordered it, Iames is released from service.) Iames hesitates just long enough to have an explanatory epiphany, then blasts Aerin with Utter Neeming Death, to the shock of & Co. Having fulfilled the prophecy, Iames then declares that he is free from the BBEG's service and attains his full deific potential, which he uses to seal the BBEG away for pretty much ever, at the cost of draining magic from the world for as long as the BBEG is imprisoned. Oh yeah, and he brings Aerin back to life, and they live mildly happliy ever after. So Iames never really has the second, deific set of stats until the very end, and even then, he's never likely to use them against any PC. Unless you're doing an evil campaign..

And yeah, the Dark is pretty nasty. It's funny, though. The Light is the one who's most likely to use save-or-die abilities on a target, because the Dark enjoys causing pain and fear, while the Light, if he sees the necessity of killing, will do it as quickly and painlessly as he possibly can.

Edit - Added more Salient Divine Abilities. Technically, he should have more, but I figure that the other special stuff he's got makes up for it.
