Well, may as well make a thread to keep from flooding the other ones whenever I make something vaguely relevant to them. Except the fanservice thread, I think I might keep posting stuff there, too, purely because I doub't I'll come up with much for it.

But here's the most recent stuff I have done. I'll try to keep putting stuff in here. If you want me to draw something, I'll see what I can do as well. No guarantees, I'm often kinda busy, but I'd apprieciate something to draw nontheless.

Does gender actually matter at all? And 4E or 3E Tiefling? Bacause that's the difference between demonic-looking-humanoid and human-with-horns.

This is some pretty nice work. You have definitely have a decent grasp of anatomy which is pretty sparse in terms of the anime-doodlers along the vast worlds of the internets.

Might I suggest using a thinner pencil though? It might allow you to make some more precise lines and thereby improve your drawing ability as you see your drawings open up a bit. Even switching from a traditional #2 pencil to a thinner leaded mechanical pencil will make a lot of difference.

Or, if you prefer traditional pencils, try finding some that have a harder lead (IE a higher number).

Keep in mind you don't have to take any of this advice if you don't want to, this is simply something I started to do a few years ago after which I saw a really nice, sharp jump in my drawing ability.

At any rate, Happy drawing and I hope you continue posting!

The thickness is actually due to my preference of 2B lead for my Mech Pencil. I'd use less smudgy lead, but I've always kinda liked softer lines. Also, the scanner tends to bump up the thickness about twice the amount it originally was, so that might also be contributing.
I shall make an effort to grab maybe an HB or just a B lead refiller when I'm out though. See if the difference is noticeable.
Nice to see you pop in, Kara, I've always quite liked your work.

Doesn't really matter as far as I know. I hate both labels as they rope so many vastly different styles under one 'Type', so maybe I'm not the best person to ask. :smalltongue:

Actually, unless Darklord is actually making a manga. It's just as good to say anime-styled as manga-styled :P Unless there's some kind of comparison available, it's pretty hard to differentiate the styles. But whatever, its Darklord's thread and I don't need to behave silly like this.

Ah, yes, I know the problem with scanners. It's even worse to copics and other marker-coloured stuff... It kinda' eats the colour.

Love the style. Although simple, you accomplish a lot. I love the group portrait.

It would make a good cartoon style. You should consider doing a webcomic. :smallamused:

Anime is animated.
Manga is not.

Isn't Manga the name of the drawing technique/ style and Anime the name given to Manga only when it's animated? :smalltongue:

The eye thing is due to the fact that I have only recently started closing off the eyes and inputting a pseudo-realism style twang on my arts. I'm not terrific with proprtional stuff (Due to having not taking any art classes because I hate the idea of doing it as 'Work', even if I do learn a bit from it.) But because a lot of my friends do art and are fairly high in the class (They put me to shame before they did art, actually) I tend to learn from them.

I have a habit of seeing something, going "I MUST DRAW THAT!", be it someone's lips (Common) or a position in general. Either from real life or other art. After this point I modify the trait or pose to better suit my style and begin doing what I like to call "Assimilating a horrific amalgamation of art styles and twisting it to make my own out of it".

I'm trying to get closer to realism without being realism. I like my 'Pseudo-realistic" goal as an art style.

edit: oh, regarding a previous argument, 'Manga' is the name for Japanese comics in the style of the animated 'Anime' style. So in other words, neither label is correct.

Arguably, what is known today as "anime" is antedated by manga, and both evolved concurrently as an medium from roots in early western animation. Anime was the whimsical stories of manga reformatted for a television audience, so what the style should be called is up for dispute.
