Okay, we have a house.

We have 15k worth to furnish the house with all sorts of magic, the character who owns it is both a paranoid and a non-fiction-writer. Thus there are two main themes of the house.

1. Traps, and not just traps, the kind that make you suspicious of everything.
We save money by trapping the first door and then making every other door have fake magic auras, etc.

2. Really good personal library. So far there's a rune circle (RoS) of Divine Insight and Read Magic in it.

We mostly need trap ideas, but interesting security ideas are fine, as are ways to improve the library. We have 6612gp left.

(We already have a food generating machine and alarm spells up, just so you know.)

Any help will be appreciated.

Symbols, Glyphs, and Fire Traps? All are pretty cheap (cost of having the spell cast), but provide some decent protection.

Trained animals can be handy too, though you need to feed them. Plants like Assassin Vines might be easier from that perspective, less maintenance.

A Diplomancer, an assassin vine seedling and the Speak With Plants spell will get you a semi-permanent and semi-unkillable guardian for the front gate.

And don't forget, all the best traps are on the ceiling.

Put empty bottles on door handles "Conspiracy Theory" style. Hide marble balls under a rug. Sleep inside a Rope Trick spell and fill the house will Spike Stones for the night (if you have a druid friend).

A simple trap: order an Unseen Servant to hold a flask with some gas bomb in front of doors opened inwards. If someone opens the door, the gas bomb will fall from the servants hand (or you can order him, to drop the bomb, if someone unfamiliar enters the room).
