I'm trying to find an adventure or adventure arc to run using the 2nd edition advanced dungeon and dragons rules. I wanted to try running a campaign using printed adventures.
Preferably, one that fit together as an arc or are a campaign in, and of, themselves. Like how The Temple of Elemental Evil was a whole campaign that began with 1st level characters.

Any suggestions?

Well, if you are not too opposed to Planescape, I recommend the Great Modron March and Dead Gods, which together form a 1-20 campaign.

If you have a LOT of time, I highly recommend "A Night Below". Comes in 3 parts. First part is level 1-5, then 5-10, then 10-15. Very long, with a bit of everything from the genre. I've run it before converted to 3.5, but only got to the end of the first book before the semester ended and people went and got graduated.

But yea, its all there in a box. I've seen it on Amazon for ~$20, slightly loved.

Queen of the Spiders (http://home.flash.net/~brenfrow/dd1/gdq1-7.htm)

2nd edition and 1st edition both went away from adventures and went for settings.

I would also suggest things in the Mystara (http://home.flash.net/~brenfrow/ms/ms.htm) line.

There is also the DLC (http://home.flash.net/~brenfrow/dl/dl.htm) line if you can find them.

Are you looking for something specifically for second edition or are you looking for second edition compatible adventures? All of the first edition modules are 99% compatible with second edition, so you could run through GDQ1-7 easily enough. There are also a lot of free modules available at Dragonsfoot, including several that link together, and which have been recommended in the past:

SM1 The Spider Farm (http://www.dragonsfoot.org/php4/archive.php?sectioninit=AD&fileid=152)
SM2 The Melford Murder (http://www.dragonsfoot.org/php4/archive.php?sectioninit=AD&fileid=162)
SM3 Shrine of the Oracle (http://www.dragonsfoot.org/php4/archive.php?sectioninit=AD&fileid=164)
SM4 Beneath the Darkshroud Peaks (http://www.dragonsfoot.org/php4/archive.php?sectioninit=AD&fileid=196)

JT1 Where the Fallen Jarls Sleep (http://www.dragonsfoot.org/php4/archive.php?sectioninit=AD&fileid=165)
JT2 Beneath Black Towen (http://www.dragonsfoot.org/php4/archive.php?sectioninit=FE&fileid=213)
JT3 Stormcrows Gather (http://www.dragonsfoot.org/php4/archive.php?sectioninit=FE&fileid=242)

With second edition, most of the modules became campaign specific, with the generic items appearing mainly in Dungeon magazine. Is there a campaign setting you are particularly interested in?

I've got a Forgotten Realms supplement titled Ruins of Adventure (which is apparently based on Pool of Radiance) which claims to be intended to take PCs from beginning levels to much higher ones.

I can't vouch for quality, though, and it looks to be pretty brutal.

The Tales of Lankhmar book has 8 adventures that should be able to take PCs from about levels 3 or 4 to level 9.

I believe that most of the Dark Sun modules linked together in the way you describe, and the Forgotten Realms Bloodstone modules (H1 through H4) do this for very high level PCs (15+).

I don't know that any of those are precisely what you want.

We have time. I don't get a teaching credential for close to two years, another player is going to be there for at least 3, and the other two are professors at the school.

Is Temple of Elemental Evil good? I know its a well remembered dungeon, but does that just mean people died a lot or was there a good story to go with it?

I'm thinking about using the PlaneScape setting because I just got the box set for cheap (I got the Dark Sun one too, but that **** is complicated) and it's awesome! The setting only really matters if they go the wrong direction...the very wrong direction.

Also, Axe of the Dwarvish Lords was recommended to me and the cover looks cool.

On an unrelated note, why is there so much awesome art in 2nd edition, but ****ty art in 4th? I mean, Wizards has access to great artists, Magic has cool art and piles of it. 4th's art just sucks and it's bugging me.

It is good, and it does have a story, but it could easily turn into a room by room grind if the game master does not know what he is doing. You will have to put in some preparatory work to decide how you want to run the temple. There are some excellent revamped maps around on the old internet.

Both are fun campaign settings, not sure what the adventure modules are like.

Never played it, but it doesn't get much negative or positive press.

Art direction, target audience, and preferences. I am not a fan of D20/4e art, I like some pieces, but not many. In think the art of Exalted is way better. On the whole I prefer the art of second edition, but also the old WHFRPG art. Very subjective, though.

The Night Below is a good 2nd ed campaign, but it is huge.

There are at least two Dark Sun campaigns-made-from-modules, but I can't remember the names. Marauders of Nibenay might be one of the starting points.

The Planescape modules are nine kinds of awesome. However, they don't really hang together as a single campaign very well. (I tried that one before.) As a one-off I recommend Harbinger House, for something slightly longer Dead Gods and Faction War are both excellent.

I came in here to post exactly this. Modron March is a great adventure--an epic scope, lots of opportunities for characters to shine and/or do their own thing, a very concrete way to measure success (if they decide to take up the goal of protecting the March, which brings me to my next point), and Modrons, which are sometimes cute little critters and always awesome. I mean, they're square clockwork biomechanoids that are also spiritual beings, the Lawful equivalent of angels and demons. Brilliant!
