Since the other thread has mutated to the point where you couldn't tell the orginal topic if it walked up and bit you in the face, I decided to create a thread where we pit Sammy againist Mercer's rival in the open-world superhuman business, Cole.

The arena and setup:

1. As before, the arena is a large GF space station, this time with numerous sources of electricity. However, most of them are destructible via Morph Ball Bomb.

2. For the purposes of this fight, the Cole I am using is the version who activated the Ray Sphere a second time (black lighting included), both to serve as a justification for Samus fighting him and to give him the greatest possible amount of power.

3. Cole has the full range of his Evil abilites, combined with the largest possible amount of Battery Cores (those things which measure the amount of energy he has). Similarly, Samus has acess to all her upgrades from the Prime games (beacuse all games would just result in Cole getting vapourized).

So, who do you think will win? Will Cole emerge in victory, and spred terror across the universe? Or shall it be Samus, possibly getting the Ray Sphere as her customary post-boss upgrade (and certainly throwing it into the center of a sun as soon as she find out how it works)?

Is Samus the new WH40K? This is two VS threads already today against her in a short space of time!

They're just trying to figure out what mere mortal could best Missile Spamus Aran. :smalltongue:

Let's see, in this test, Samus has (excluding Prime Hunters, though that would give her an even wider range of beam weaponry):

Weaponry:
-Power Beam has been replaced by the Nova Beam, a conglomeration of the Pirates' Phazite mining laser, Ghor's plasma beam, and Samus's own Power Beam. Causes disintegration on a kill. High-temperature, high-frequency beam can pierce Phazite armor, melt rock, melt Phazon-enhanced ice, and weld electrical panels. Can be charged to power a Super Missile, which is 5 times as powerful as a standard missile.

-Ice Beam is available. Causes freezing on impact against cold-vulnerable or weakened targets. A charged Nova Beam can shatter frozen enemies instantly. Can be charged to power an Ice Spreader missile, which has increased freezing capability over the Charged Ice Beam, as well as the speed and homing capabilities of a Super Missile.

-Wave Beam is available. Homing electricity-based attack. Can be charged to power the Wavebuster, a powerful electrical attack that drains missiles.

-Plasma Beam is also available. This Plasma Beam, found on Tallon IV, fires slower than the one acquired from Ghor, but has increased offensive power and can be charged to power a Flamethrower.

-Dark Beam is available, with 250 points of ammuntion. Causes a burst of darkness that freezes the enemy similar to the Ice Beam. More powerful than the Ice Beam. Darkburst is an attack that is similar to the Black Hole Bomb in Mega Man 9.

-Light beam also has 250 points of ammuntion. Fires incinerating light similar to the Tallon IV Plasma Beam. Sunburst causes a massive fireball-like explosion, but travels to its destination slowly.

-Annihilator beam requires Dark and Light Beam ammunition. All three can fire a standard shot by fully charging the weapon when all ammunition is expended. Fires faster than any weapon other than the Nova Beam. Localized matter-antimatter explosions cause shockwaves. Sonic Boom is a fast, powerful, wide-area blast.

-Missiles have been upgraded to Ice Seeker Missiles. Each missile possesses the freezing properties of the Ice Beam, and may be charged to fire up to five missiles simultaneously. 255 missiles, unless all missile expansions from all the Prime games are included, in which case it's 765 missiles.

-Morph Ball Bombs remain the same. Infinite use, three at a time.

-Power Bombs are available. 10 power bombs, unless all power bomb expansions are allowed, in which case it's 18. Can blow stuff up. Insta-kills Fission Metroids, and probably a whole lot more things, too.

-Hyper Mode is available, including Hyper Beam, Hyper Missile, Hyper Grapple, and Hyper Ball.

-Hyper Beam is a rapid-fire beam stronger than the Nova Beam, can be charged to fire dozens of standard shots in a Vulcan cannon fashion.

-Hyper Missile is a high-speed missile stronger and faster than the Super Missile. Does not home in, but travels almost as fast as the Nova and Hyper Beams.

-Hyper Ball causes localized death. Melee attacks are unadvised.

-Grapple Voltage allows Samus to drain or overload the energy of any target she can grab with her Grapple Lasso. Hyper Grapple allows her to directly funnel Phazon energy into her opponent, causing an energy overload faster. Opponents tend to explode violently when killed by the Grapple Voltage's overload or draining powers.
Defenses:
-Varia Suit, Gravity Suit, Light Suit, PED, and Hazmat shield afford increased durability, as well as immunity to most environmental hazards.

-2099 points of shield energy. Hypermode drains 100 points for activation, but grants near-invulnerability throughout its duration. If all Energy Tanks from the main Prime Series are allowed, maximum energy reaches 6099... possibly greater than any other single being ever encountered by Samus.

-Can survive in anaerobic situations indefinitely.
Mobility:
-Gravity Suit allows normal movement under water. Gravity Booster allows short-period underwater jet bursts to cover greater heights than normal.

-Space Jump, combined with Screw Attack allow Samus to jump higher than her own height and travel great distances horizontally. Can wall-jump.

-Morph Ball allows Samus to use access tunnels, crawlways, and airducts. GF warships have all been conveniently designed to cater to this ability.

Yeah, I've never understood why the GF ships seem to be build with Samus' capabilities in mind when it doesn't appear as if anyone else can turn into a pokeball.

Also, is it just me or have they been lax about designing morphpokeball upgrades?

Because the Chozo insisted that in exchange for their knowledge of just about every advanced tech available everyone should make their doors respond to an energy burst from a Chozo Power Beam and all of their air vents have to be at least 1 meter in diameter. :smalltongue:

The legacy of the Chozo is glorious and far-reaching indeed!

Doesn't explain why the Space Pirates make everything so convenient.

Hey, when your warriors are the only ones in the galaxy who can turn into a little ball, adding ball-sized ventilation ducts (and marking them as extremely important) to every piece of tech you trade with other species seems a good idea, in case they use them against you. Chozo were smart buggers, you know :smalltongue:.

Doesn't explain why the Space Pirates make everything so convenient.

1.) They copy Federation tech, which in turn is copied from and/or directly developed in conjunction with the Chozo.
2.) The Space Pirates are idiots.

So if I'm reading this correctly, and mind I've not played any games associated with either save super smash brothers, Cole is really really boned.

Samus is a swiss army knife made of pain, torment and explosions that can fire around 15 different beams and rockets from her concentrated agony appendage and spam enough missiles to make the SDF-1 feel inadequate. On top of that she han handle herself in close combat and has the ability to turn into a speedy bomb dropping pokeball for a quick getaway.

Cole can glide, knows parkour, and can shock you directly in the balls at 50 paces.

No contest.

No contest.Exactly - he can only do that if Samus is in altform

Ah, and she might be if she's acting like how I play her in every game and taking every possible tactical step before engaging in combat - in this case, destroying every source of energy with Power Bombs.
