300 and other overly epic films

IF ANYONE HAS SEEN THE TRAILER FOR 300 THEY WILL REALISE WHY KING LEONIDAS HAS INSPIRED BE TO DO NAUGHT BUT SHOUT AND KICK PEOPLE DOWN SPATAR'S MANY BOTTONLESS PITS. ;D

But really though, the film looks so god damn epic, seriously, I can't actually think of any other film quite as overly epic then this film, :D

consider during the trailer about 85% is in slowmotion

as for epic slow-mo; maybe LOTR - though they sure did make good use of awesome sound.

Also notable: ZacK Synder (directing this film) is also directing a film adaptation of the classic "The Watchmen." I have to say I'm pretty stoked about both.

Its based on Frank Miller's graphic novel of the same name. Take that as you will, but by all accounts all of the events that happen in the graphic novel actually happened or at least is reported as having happened.

For anyone interested in this fascinating moment of history - I strongly suggest the book Gates of Fire by Steven Pressfield. It's an excellent work of fiction told from the point of view of one of the Spartans.
