Time for Titans 3.

Recruitment begins today and will end on August 4th. At that time roles will be PM'd and game will begin.

Just in case you all forgot the roles and/or rules, here they are!

Rules

Greek Gods Winners of Titans 1 and Titans 2, this pantheon of gods are to now care for the villagers and remove the other gods. Win game when other Gods are eliminated.
Zeus - Alpha Seer - Can scry for roles and scries as a villager. Knows baner. Scry interference results in no results.
Ares - Baner - Knows the seer. Can choose one person to protect nightly.
Hades - Disguiser - Can make any one person appear as any role. Disguise interference will result in nothing happening.
Hermes - Voider - Can stop a power from being used nightly. Is not told if power is successful.
Villager - Each day sends prayer (by pointing) to remove one of the Gods from power.

Celtic Gods - Seeing the struggle for supremacy in the realm, this Irish lot has decided it's time to take a shot. Not only are they a new pantheon to the game, they are also all women. Win game when they outnumber remaining players.
Morrigan - Alpha Devil - Can scry for roles and scries as a villager. Knows killer. Scry interference results in no results.
Macha - Killer - Sends in the night kill for the Celtic Gods. If killed, the Celtic Gods lose kill ability.
Nemain - Disguiser - Can make any one person appear as any role. Disguise interference will result in nothing happening.
Niamh - Voider - Can stop a power from being used nightly. Is not told if power is successful.
Norse Gods Not reclaiming their power again last time left these gods angry and wanting vengeance for the true God title. Win game when they outnumber remaining players.
Odin - Alpha Devil - Can scry for roles and scries as a villager. Knows killer. Scry interference results in no results.
Thor - Killer - Sends in the night kill for the Norse Gods. If killed, the Norse Gods lose kill ability.
Loki - Disguiser - Can make any one person appear as any role. Disguise interference will result in nothing happening.
Tyr - Voider - Can stop a power from being used nightly. Is not told if power is successful.
Egyptian Gods - Slighted at the finish line in game one and game two, they also return for a vie of true God title. Win game when they outnumber remaining players.
Ra - Alpha Devil - Can scry for roles and scries as a villager. Knows killer. Scry interference results in no results.
Anubis - Killer - Sends in the night kill for the Egyptian Gods. If killed, the Egyptian Gods lose kill ability.
Horus - Disguiser - Can make any one person appear as any role. Disguise interference will result in nothing happening.
Isis - Voider - Can stop a power from being used nightly. Is not told if power is successful.
Roman Gods - Tired of seeing their likeness win again and again, they have come back from round 1 to get the correct names in charge of the land.
Jupiter - Alpha Devil - Can scry for roles and scries as a villager. Knows killer. Scry interference results in no results.
Pluto - Killer - Sends in the night kill for the Roman Gods. If killed, the Roman Gods lose kill ability.
Mercury - Disguiser - Can make any one person appear as any role. Disguise interference will result in nothing happening.
Mars - Voider - Can stop a power from being used nightly. Is not told if power is successful.
A NEW ROLE!?! (Not associated with any pantheon.)
Cupid - The god of love an harmony has seen too much fighting for too long, and is tired of it. Starts the game knowing 1 player from each of the pantheons. Players known by Cupid do not know that Cupid knows them. Scries as villager. Wins if they survive.

Disguiser and Voider roles do not start of game knowing who other gods in their respective pantheon are.

Days to last 48 hours.
Nights to last 24 hours.
Autolynching to happen if non points have been made for 2 consecutive days. Pointing at TPAM and TPBM will be deemed as non points. You must name a player when pointing. Pointing at self is at your own risk, but will count as pointing. Please make our points in red.

Gods may choose to attack themselves. Tricks and deception are encouraged.

Night kills will not result in role being revealed. Day lynches will reveal the role.

If all the killer roles have been eliminated, the last remaining pantheon will get a kill ability if the other respective wolf pantheon's have been eliminated.

All roles determined at random. Alpha in this game on means scries as villager. Alphas do not pick their team.

Setting is in ancient times. So feel free to RP as anyone that was around during the Egyptian/Greek/Nordic/Celtic/Roman civilizations. Mythical creatures more then welcome for RPing.

Please note that even though this is a game of the gods, discussions on religion and religious views/opinions are not tolerated in the forums per forum rules. Please keep this in mind.

Pending on player signup - A 5th pantheon has been added!!

And we're up to 38 39 Players! As many More that were in Titans 1. The next mark is the 47 we reached in T2.

5th Pantheon to be added when we reach 50. Though thoughts on who should it be....

Zeb The Troll

In no particular order...

Sumerian (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sumerian_mythology#Gods_and_Goddesses)
Slavic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slavic_pantheon#Pantheon)
Hindu (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hindu_pantheon#Popular_deities)
Native American (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Native_American_deities)

This last would probably be the hardest to create for the game, but I think potentially the most insteresting.

RedScholarGypsy
2009-07-30, 01:49 AM
Well, for Native American, Crow would be Alpha, and Coyote would be Disguiser I think.

You could also do Shinto spirits. Inari, who's foxes are the Kitsune, would be Disguiser, or perhaps Tanuki. Yuki-onna for the Killer, or maybe Raijin(Raiden), as he's, I think, brothers with Fujin, wind god and eldest, who could be Alpha. I don't have an idea about Voider.

You could do Aztec gods. There would be only trouble if people actually tried to pronounce them...

Huitzilopotchtli- Alpha Devil (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huitzilopochtli)

If my information is correct, that is a part of North America.

This is correct. Mexico and the Caribbean Islands are part of North America, however, some maps appear to write North America, South America, and then "Mexico and Central America", which is wrong, because Central America is actually part of South America and is not a continent on its own, and neither is Mexico, and I think I've overused my dose of commas for a single sentence and omgwhat'sthelongbuttonofmykeyboardfor?

Humans create new gods for themselves as part of the imaginary world. And then people actually start believing in them:

Putting in a suggestion for the D&D Pantheon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Dungeons_&_Dragons_deities):

I'm like to join please, and to second the suggestion of Sumerian for the 5th pantheon. They seem an appropriate addition, since they're kind of the original for the greek and egyptian ones. For roles, they could go:

Anu: Alpha devil
Tiamat: Killer
Ishtar: Disguiser
Enki: Voider

I'll have to look back. I know that repeatedly both sides have scried or killed the same player. At least once three scries when there was an item.

It's usually Alarra or Shadow getting scried almost immediately, and JX getting killed twice.

First page has been updated. 45 46 players.

Heh - Murska and Shadow in the same game. I am going to LOVE to narrate this.

A town Pantheon. = Awesome. However since Atreyu is in the game I can't have him as a god....so Trog would take his place - should I go with that one.

Sneak - Devil - Knowing everyone from his mafia connections enables him to scry a person each night.
Kyrian - Killer - Yeah, because if you tried to go against him, you'd die.
Trog - Disguiser - Too many drinks at his tavern and you get those special goggles to make anyone pretty or ugly.
Fenric - Voider - Can make someone give up their ways for an evening.

Though from a narrating standpoint, that would warp the theme to silly. Plus this game isn't ready to "jump the shark" and we still need 5 4 more players in order to enact pantheon 5. :smallwink:

Edit: - And reading up on the thought I had in the WW central thread - I'm going to give that a shot in this game as well. Any lynched villager may be brought back into the game to replace an autolynched player.

Type Pantheon:
Ninja - Devil - Lurks in the Shadow and sees a players true identity each night.
Pirate - Killer - Dastardly charming yet has the gun in his hand! He can kill a player each night!
Due to their eternal feud, these two know eachother.
Zombies(1 player) - Can spend the night protecting a player, but is so big and have so many bodies, that it won't be hurt!
Cowboy- Voider - Can kidnapp and ride off into the sunset with somebody each night, thus making any actions by or targeted at them, void.

Waaait, I messed up baner and Killer with knowing the devil, didn't I? Or did it vary per pantheon?:smallconfused: Well I can't remember.

53 players = More then enough for the 5th pantheon, so it has been added.

T4 may have to include something with all the silly pantheons - Lol Cats, Town, Memes (Ninja, Pirate, Robot & Cowboy).

And since I know some of you are "Boo! That one's already been done." Another role has been has been added to the game entirely.

Cupid - The god of love an harmony has seen too much fighting for too long, and is tired of it. Starts the game knowing 1 player from each of the pantheons. Players known by Cupid do not know that Cupid knows them. Scries as villager. Wins if they survive.

How is this played? I'm semi-interested.

Mordokai
2009-08-04, 09:55 AM
To quote people smarter than me...

The game is played in turns that consist of two different phases.
There's a day phase that happens from dawn til dausk in game. This period lasts 48 hours. During this time all the players try to decide who the bad guys are by voting for them. Votes are done in red text. Once a 25% majority has been reached, whoever has the most votes after 48 hours is removed from the game. If no 25% majority is reached, the mob cannot gather sufficient numbers to lynch anyone. If a 50% majority is reached, day may optionally end early, at that point.

The next phase is the night phase, which lasts from dusk til dawn. This phase lasts 24 hours. During this phase, anyone that has a special action to perform during that time does so via PM to the narrators. This is the phase of the game where the wolves would tell the narrators who they would like to kill.

After time's up, the narrators will post the opening of the following Day Scene and it starts all over again.
This continues until either A) all of the Wolves are destroyed by the Villagers -or- B) the Wolves reduce the total number of non-wolf players to equal their own.

This is just a brief overview of the rules.
See below for the original rules by DungeonMaster77 or go to a game thread for individual games' specific rules.

In short, you have a day and a night phase. During the day, we lynch somebody by pointing at them in red bold letters. Or just red letters, either work, really. During the nigh the wolves(bad guys) kill one of the villagers(good guys). The only exception in this game is that there are four kills per night, since we have four wolf groups.

The villagers win when there are no more wolves alive. Wolves win if they manage to get their number to the equal those of the still alive villagers.

You know, that sounded complicated... be sure to ask, if you need clarifications

It's Goof's(the narrator) trademark, or some such. He came up with an idea and now he hosts it every time he thinks it's a time for new game. Mythology isn't exclusive, you can come up with werewolf game for pretty much any theme, this one is about mythology.

Supagoof
2009-08-04, 12:32 PM
A new day shone down upon Athens. The philsophers were gathered upon the grassy lawn in the park. A soft breeze carried in from the ocean gently cooled the atmosphere. The Parthenon was shining in its full marble glory, full of the treasure the Greek empire had accumulated. The land was at peace.

In the center of the Parthenon was a monument. It had been there since anyone could remember. The monument was a large black marble slab. On top of it were two hands sculpted out of gold, both holding onto sceptor that glowed. The sceptor was seen as the protector of Athens. Legend tells of stories long ago were gods battled for the land. In the end, the villagers used the sceptor to banish the false gods to realms unknown - never to return.

Or so they thought...

Philosopher Supagoofstotle was in charge of the Parthenon and it's contents. He made sure the building was kept in top form. During his nightly ritual of closing the gates to the building, he found strange markings on the stones leading into the building. Following the markings, they lead to the room where the Sceptor was stored. Upon looking in the room, he discovered a group of...well he wasn't quite sure what to make to them. They weren't like anything he had encountered before. One thing was certain though - they had the monument in their hands.

Put...put that down!

You going to make us, little human?

Far too long we have watched your gods mock us with their victory.

And with this, they will no longer have the ability to stop us from overthrowing their rule.

We should make a message of him.

Yes, to let the people know we are back!

The beings all approached Supagoofstotle. Screams are head through Athens that night.

The next morning the villagers find the dead body of Supagoofstotle bruised and beaten, as if it was dragged violently around the Parthenon. Inside the building, written in what one could only assume to be blood, is a note that was hastily written.

They have returned. Only your prayers can prevent the demonic gods from ruining the peace in our land. Find the sceptor, restore the....

Day 1 Begins!

Selrahc
2009-08-04, 01:13 PM
I agree with Murska. I don't think someone trying to trick the Roman gods into revealing themselves is exactly harmful to the villagers cause.

Now there could be some ulterior motive behind it, to try and establish himself as a non threat or something. Lets think...

Scenario 1: Villager fishing for Roman Gods. Looks the most likely, since this play is probably going to get him killed, even if successful. Villagers are the best risk takers.

Scenario 2: Roman disguiser fishing for Roman gods. Immune to scries so if he lives through the first day he won't be called on it, and might worm himself into any networks.

Scenario 3: Other disguiser aiming to set up networks and/or worming into the villager net.

Scenario 4: Cupid, picking a very odd method of lying low. :smalltongue:

I'll go for Geesi though. Reinholdt probably is a villager trying a stunt.

Let's be honest here. With the number of wolf groups and night kills, pretty much everyone involved in this fiasco is dead.

Someone should bane the kitty if today's lynchee does turn out to be a wolf, though.

By the way, Reinholdt, I'm curious. Why the Romans? Just a random pick?

Geez, guys, what's up with the heavy logic on Day 1......? >.>
Why can't we just sit... and relax... and enjoy the view before we go paranoid on each other?

The question is, what would Shadow gain by that claim? Other than a quick death.

1.) Fun
2.) More Fun
3) ????
4.) Profit

I think that was the list

((Nice ploy, Reinholdt.))
In the desert, a large lion with a woman's head sits still as a statue. A lone figure approaches, and the Sphinx turns her head towards him.
"Hello, Night Surgeon. What walks on its legs?"

Exactly. To my mind if he WAS actually a greek god he wouldn't toss it out there like that. By claiming Greek God (on the side of the villagers) he is less likely to be lynched, and it throws confusion into the mix.

I think Shadow would only post something like that in thread if he was actually something OTHER than a greek god.

That makes sense. However...

Shadow is already a high priority target. By saying he's Greek god he not only paints a bullseye on his forehead, chest, back and ass... he is also giving his enemies a crossbow. Or in this case, a bazooka. It seems counterproductive at best and suicidal at worst.

A little crooked man riding a little crooked goat rides up to the party.

Geesi doesn't look crooked enough to me.

And how is Shadow being that big a target different from any other Werewolf game?

All I'm saying is that by claiming a Greek god he isn't doing himself a favor. Unless he is trying to get the other Greek gods to come to him, which is something I wouldn't put past him.

((At the very least, it would change the wolves' plan from "Shadow is playing, let's kill him later." to "Shadow is playing and he's a power role. Kill him now."))

And if one specific greek god follows that line of thought, and protects him from night kills - theres a benefit to him right there.

In that sense, he's no different form any other power role claiming in any other day. It's still a risk, though. And it does make him a target.

It does make it more likely for the baner to leave himself open, or to not protect any of the participants in this little melee, though.

Or, it could waste a lot of night kills. Good Power Shadow is something the wolf pantheons might jump on, and might not want to count on the others to get it done for them.

Most curious.

A man is seen running down the street, he is covered from head to toe in all manner of strange clothing. several cowboy hats, three eye-patches, a ninja uniform, and several (very fake) robotic limbs.

"I am all-powerful! Fear my wrath! I love bacon, love is cupid's domain, cupid is a god, and gods are all powerful. Therefore, I am all powerful"

The man looks at banjo. "MY WRATH, FEAR IT!"

The man then dashes off and hides in the nearest rubbish heap.

Since it honestly doesn't matter, Geesi. Is this the biggest Bandwagon in WW history? I find it hard to believe, so I'm asking the veterans for better examples of ridiculously large BW's.
As for Reinholdt, the two options are 1)Reinholdt's having some fun as a villager by being risky, which is cool, or 2)he's not a villager, and pulling a Murska. If 1, then leave him be. If 2, then the Murska curse will eventually cause a bandwagon to spontaneously form on him, killing him. Therefore, I'm not worried. :smalltongue:

Edit: Had murska's vote on Aemoh struck. It wasn't. My bad.

Hey, there are 56 people in this game (about twenty of which have yet to vote). I'm only four people beyond the 25% threshold, even. :smallwink: It's going to take a bandwagon of this magnitude to get anything done.

We had about 30 a lot (ok I don't know for sure) for Whitehelm in Day 3 of Camp.

So, there's a few people who look pretty darn guilty, but only one person I can truly feel safe pointing at on day 1...
