I recently acquired a pair of vintage headphones, and would like to use them without cutting off the plugs and splicing in a modern coax headphone plug. Does anyone know of an adapter for the two-prong headphone wire or will I have to make one?

There are adapters out there for everything Flame', especially in the incredibly picky hi-fi market. You just have to do the right Google search...

I would suggest you start by checking out newegg or monoprice for adapters. if those fail, try to find the exact name of the kind of headphones you now have and start googling.

Also, posting a picture of the jacks in question on a site for audiophiles might not be a bad idea.

If you have a radio shack near you, odds are they have the right adapter. I found one for my old stereo that went from the old school headphone jacks to the newer ones, plus an adapter for my old computer with the 5 pin DIN.
