Would it be possible to accomplish creating Okami Amaterasu without houseruling anything?

What I have going so far for concept would be an awakened white wolf with some sort of telekinesis for weapon control and access to marvelous pigments. Beyond that, I don't have much of a clue how to flesh this concept, and it has been so long since I played Okami that I can't even remember the powers you start with/earn.

Please keep in mind that this would just be an exercise in abnormal character/creature creation to just get people thinking.

Are you talking about the goddess Amaterasu (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amaterasu) or the video game character Ōkami (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%8Ckami)?

For the wolf, I'd think that an Awakened (link (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/awaken.htm)) Spirit (Frostburn) Advanced Wolf would make the most sense. The abilities would be harder to reproduce. She effectively has Time Stop, Plant Growth, Daylight, Delayed Fireball Blast, and several others that I'm not seeing a similar spell for. You'd definitely need to give her those abilities somehow, and while a Sorcerer 20 who has used spell research is technically "within the rules", it does feel like houseruling quite a bit.

If you wanted Ōkami as an opponent, technically anything you give her is not a "houserule", so enjoy. :smallwink:

A Generic Spellcaster, http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/genericClasses.htm , could learn all of those spells.

The biggest problem isn't acquiring the spells - it's determining what spells to acquire. From what I recall, Okami can do the following:

change day into night
change night into day
sprout trees from empty ground
cause trees to instantly bloom
create bombs
create lillypads
talk to animals
"cut" objects and enemies
create bridges, rebuild houses, and so on

That doesn't include the shield-discus or the bead-whip-gun. And heck, I haven't finished the game. I'm not even sure what other powers she has.

So, Talk with Animals is a spell. So is Plant Growth/Plant Control. Sunbeam was an attempt to replicate changing day/night, as I don't really know a spell which does that. Shadow Conjuration can copy a could of the temporary effects, although doesn't quite work with permanently rebuilding things.

The shield-discus could be an Animated shield with Throwing/Returning properity. The beads could effectively be an Dancing spiked chain, I guess. It's kind of hard to match that to a D&D enchantment. The Spirit creature I'd mentioned earlier is similar to a ghost, but doesn't have all its abilities - the last of Telekinesis is the biggest problem. I suppose you could make Okami an actual ghost to "hold" the weapons with Telekinesis, but there's several other abilities which don't really fit.

Maybe give her Divine Rank 0? Just enough to show divinity without granting any OMGWTFUBER domain powers.
