Old Hillbilly Kooter Joe Mountain-Holder

Old Hillbilly Mountain-Holder is a crazy old koot.
Married his cousin, and didn't think nothing of it.
Had three kids till the Mrs caught him with her niece and tried to cut off his nids.
Barely a tooth in his mouth, though he'd gladly give you mouth-to-mouth.
His first name's Kooter, and he's a creepy old tooter.

Now I have a Bardbarian on my hands, and am not quite sure how to stat him up or what direction to take him in.

Anyone who has done this have any advice?

Currently I know he is a human, and is of Old Age Category (in PHB under Descriptions), which gives him a -1 to physical stats and a +1 to emntal stats.

You mean middle age right? Isn't old age -3/+2?

My apologies. You are right.

I just doubled checked, and it is -2/+1:

Check again. "The effects of each aging step are cumulative."

Many thanks. That actually works out quite well.

Sources?

And any idea how long the game will go?
(Should we worry about what he looks like at level 9? 13? 27?)

Everything but feats and equipment should be core. Everything else has to be approved by DM. The DM has already approved another person for a non-core PrC.

This game should go on until either we reach 20ish level, or we get a TPK.

Barb 1/Barbarian 1? How are you multiclassing between the same class? Or is barb short for something other than barbarian? Or is it bard?

For bonus awesome, the quarterstaff he uses as a weapon should also be the neck of his washtub bass.

Actually, since he has a non-Barbarian level, he gains literacy automatically.

Maybe it would fit the theme better if he went with Savage Bard (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/variantCharacterClasses.htm#bardVariantSavageBard) instead. Stays illiterate that way.

Dude, that is perfect for what I need!

Doing something with a whip and a fair str mod might be a good way to combo the two. You can try to deal damage but the multi-classed BAB and age will really hamper that. Maybe leave it as a backup option. The standard wizardy spells like feather fall, grease, glitterdust, haste, etc. will still be good even when your spell levels are behind full casters. From there I'd pick some interesting skills and you're set. For example you could take advantage of the savage bard's survival skill to be the party tracker. Just take the track feat.

The added savage bard spells add some minor utility things you should save for scrolls and wands. Too bad you can't read. Though if there are frequent party deaths, reincarnate may be worth taking for the fun times to be had by all.

I'd say go spellcasting or warchanter ... you won't really do much good with warchanter till you hit warchanter 3, but at that point you provide huge boost to any melee effectiveness in the party (summons become a whole lot better too).

Say Barb 2/Fighter 2/Bard 1/warchanter 3/Frenzied Berserker X.
