View Full Version : Alias/Font/Encoder Program?

I've been working on a game I want to run, but have run into a small obstacle that could add a lot of time onto the creation process. I enjoy using different languages and coded riddles for my players, and I used to use online translators to convert english to dwarven/elven or whatever.

The problem is that I decided to use an old letter-to-glyph card that I got from the Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland. Now I don't think it'll be -that- much trouble to get the glyph images themselves onto my computer, but...

Well, I want to be able to hit "a" on my keyboard, and have the corresponding glyph pop up. Or, if I decide to make things -really- hard, have the glyph plus a friend or two pop up. Like a very basic code in the spy vs. spy sense.

I don't know how to do this though, and I -really- don't want to have to use wingdings. Does anyone have any advice on how I could accomplish this?

Here (http://pentacom.jp/soft/ex/font/edit.html) is a very basic tool to create new fonts.

The Typophile (http://typophile.com/forums) forums.

There's a Free Trial of Font Creator available (http://www.high-logic.com/fontcreator.html), and it's quite good. It's only 30 days though, but you can learn how to use it quickly enough to make a font in that time.
