Ricky: Not having girly bits is not a pre-requisite for being in this thread. I do alternate between wanting asexuality and possibly splitting my soul into 2 bodies(not advisable, I think their constant struggle for dominance is what's keeping me sane). This thread does have advice for guys, you just need to learn to read between stuff.:smallwink:

I know plenty of girls who do this and just can't stop shivering and don't get it. I think it's part of the pain => beauty thing. Whereas for me I just don't get cold. :smalltongue:
She's a witch robot! Wuh buh huh? How is pain beauty? Maybe in poetry or art, but that's mainly because it's a nice strong emotion to convey... but a shivering hunched up person is not the most attractive thing. Freezing yourself to appeal to male protection instincts is all I can think of it being good for, but that's still stupid.
It's been touched on before I think, but is a guy (or another girl, I suppose) acting 'chivalrous' actually endearing rather than condescending? (I've been told off repeatedly for not doing chivalry right, mostly the walking road side of the pavement thing) And this is doing nice things solely because you're female, not just being a nice person.

The social stigma attached to a male who doesn't think about sex the whole time or a female who does probably skews people's perception of the whole thing...
Definitely. Two of my friends are very much this way, and have been harrassed by people about it. It's very sadface. =\

The human urge to go out of one's way to harass others is quite intriguingly baffling.

Also, do girls have some natural immunity to cold or something? I cannot understand how many girls survive going out in a skirt or otherwise with legs uncovered in British Autumn weather (that is, before the beer jacket gets put on). It's inhuman!
I'd never do something like this and suspect that any girl who does is feeling awfully chilly, but it wouldn't surprise me if estrogen levels and body heat had some sort of correlation, just because my body heat always seems to skyrocket during my period. And the existence of hot flashes during menopause, for that matter.
Sex drive: I am a female with a rather high drive. Higher than my boyfriends, frequently. I have found that most of my female friends have drives that are approximately equivalent to those of my male friends. As always, there are outliers for both ends, but it's mostly overlap. There isn't really as big of a difference. In GENERAL, if you were to pick a random guy out of a crowded there is a slightly higher probability of his drive being higher than a random woman picked out of a crowd, but it's pretty neglible.
You won't be hearing many women speak about their sex drive, though, unless they know they are in the company of accepting peers, usually women. This is because of the stigma associated with it. I know there is no way in heck that two of my group members are finding out I am sexually active. One is a devout Muslim who cannot kiss her fiance before they are married, the other lives with her boyfriend but told us she told him that just because they are living together doesn't mean their morals need to change, implying a lack of sexual activity.
Needless to say, this puts me as a bit of an outsider. Amongst another group of friends, though, topics of an intimate nature are not unusual at all. Guys have a habit of teasing, good naturedly, but jesting about it isn't a way to make one feel comfortable with it. *shrug*
I've never been harassed about it per se, nor have I been made by someone on purpose to feel uncomfortable about it, but it's definitely not something I will talk about openly unless I know the company I am in very, very well.
On cold weather clothing: Those girls baffle me. If it's jacket weather, I'll be wearing pants or otherwise warm clothing.
On chivalry: depends on how it's done. If it's a "I do this for anyone" thing, it's OK, especially if you are not going out of your way. If it's my friend's version of running for doors for me and only did this with women, it's not OK and it's frankly demeaning.
But generally, it's OK.

One last thing. Do you all know each other in RL?
Cycoris is my foster sister, but other than that, no - I don't know anyone else IRL.
@Bath: Speaking as a girl who is cold all the time (approx. end of August through middle of June, in an area of the world where summer is pretty much April-September), I don't know how those girls do it, either.

Skimpy-clothes-wearing girls in winter are weird. It seems to peak around Christmas here, with all the teenage girls out and about in backless tops and micro-minis. They're blue, for crying out loud - how is that attractive? Or maybe I'm just getting old, because I can distinctly remember venturing out in something unseasonably appropriate one New Year, and only going back to change out of sandals because it was snowing. Alcohol levels almost certainly have an impact on this phenomenon.
Chivalry: I would hate to think someone would walk at the kerbside for me simply because I was female and therefore in need of 'protection'. I do walk kerbside most of the time with family and friends because they are all teeny-tiny and I am a comparative Amazon taking up space at 5'8", and it's less easy for someone to accidentally jostle me into oncoming traffic.

It sounds weird, but unfortunately, yeah. It's become less so since they made our High Street one-way traffic, but prior to that you were likely to be pushed or forced onto the road on a busy day.
Also some social groups seem to think it's funny to try to shove you in front of a moving vehicle when you're waiting to cross. :smallmad:

I think it could be more just this hick area, but yeah. It's not the most bizarre thing done 'as a laugh'. Just a small subset of teenagers who have not yet learned to utilize their brains to think, and a bunch of emotionally stunted, overgrown, beer-swilling 'sportsmen'. And they appear to genuinely not think that there's anything wrong with hurting other people if it's not meant maliciously... :smallsigh: I'd be surprised if any of them even considered that pushing someone into oncoming traffic is potentially fatal for the victim.

another guy invading your thread, sorry girls. But I have a good reason for it. My wife is Preg. and I was wondering if there is any nice stuff I can do for her that she may not even know she wants me to do yet.

She is always right, lol. Not really, but understand the pregnancy hormones can get pretty intense and chances are, she will get emotional randomly on you for no apparent reason.
A good blog to check out would be one of a friend of mine from another forum. She documented her quest to get pregnant and the resulting pregnancy. There are a couple NSFW things, but nothing is overly sexual, it's mostly just detailed pregnancy stuff.
She also has good recommendations for pregnancy books, although I don't remember when she posted about them. I'll link to the beginning: Kate's Makin' Babies (http://katesmakinbabies.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html). This is from when she found out she was pregnant. I think the earliest months have the most information from her, but there is some good info in the later months.
She's due any time now, so no stuff about labor yet. ;) Obviously, not everything will apply to you guys and you will likely experience stuff she did not, but I know it's been very informative to me, as a woman with no particular interest in bearing children, so it'll likely be interesting to those who are about to spawn. :)
Congrats, by the way. Baby's are exciting times.

Girls vs Cold: When I was in the Polytechnic for one year, I marvelled at how girls could withstand 23C air-conditioned lecture halls with midriff-baring tops, short skirts, etc. B(the girl I was talking about in the relationship thread) and C frequently go to work in umm, whatever you call the top where there's just 2 straps going over the shoulders, and everything from armpit to waist is covered, paired with shorts, or (in B's case)sometimes a summery sort of dress. I suspect it's a gender bodily-makeup thing, where women have a higher percentage of body fat, while guys sweat more(which is also why women tend to feel the heat sooner).

I repeat . . . I have quite a high body fat percentage and I'm pretty much freezing September-June, particularly my hands and feet. :smalltongue: That doesn't make me normal, though. I know that I'm typically colder than the majority of my friends . . . could low blood pressure have something to do with it?

Could. I have pretty low blood pressure (I had a nurse get worried once until I told her it was normal, lol) and I can get cold pretty quick. I have really good circulation, so my extremities are usually OK (Oz has issues with hands/feet getting deathly cold), but on the whole I get cold faster than most I know.
But I also get hotter. Maybe it's a body temperature regulatory issue?

Hmm. That is weird. My mother typically complains of being hot, and releases heat via contact with my legs(which get deathly cold within half an hour of sitting/lying down). I suffer from pretty poor circulation too, I think. Recently, with rainy weather lowering the air-conditioning in the mall, I've had to swing my arms at high speed(looking pretty ridiculous in the process :smallfrown:) in order to drag blood from the arms into my fingertips so that I can actually bend them.

Mhmm what you said is true. I find it frustrating trying to read girls sometimes. I always read that girls do like, sometimes just being, for lack of a better word, 'taken'. It is difficult to judge though those situations and I am definately not confident enough just to do that. There was a girl who liked me from when I first met her and I liked her but it didnt work out because she was annoyed that I didnt just make out with her when we first met. But honestly how was I supposed to know:smallconfused:? The point of that is that while you can almost always tell if a male wants sex women are a lot harder to read (for me, maybe this is different for others but I generally think this is the way it is).
Completely understandable I am the same, all that stuff is private and guys talk about it even less than girls (well in a mature sense anyway). Although give me a few drinks and I will tell you the secrets of the universe:smallwink:
Now that I think about it I reckon I have a pretty low sex drive, it just doesnt really appeal to me all that much. Which is frustrating, I know, for any girl that I have been with.

question: when you shave your legs, how long do they stay smooth?
Most of my friends only have to shave their legs every couple days, whereas if I dont shave for a day then my hair grows right back :smallannoyed: Its starting to get on my nerves. Is there a way to.... i dunno.... prevent it from growing back so quickly??
Stupid hair....:smallmad:

To have smooth legs, I have to shave every day. As it is, I go every other day because I refuse to shower every single morning. :smalltongue: Also, razors last twice as long. And my legs don't get bothered.

Mmm. Well, as long as it's not uncomfy, you could wear more long pants/ankle-length skirts? Us guys can't do that.

Mind. Out of. Gutter. Now. She puts her hand on my calves while we're watching TV. It's not a big deal to me. I literally crave heat. On the bus, unless the seat was previously occupied by someone squicky(read, somewhat questionably-hygiened), I'm not afraid to just go right in as soon as they vacate it. After a heavy meal, my lower back releases enormous amounts of heat(I think my kidneys are either hyper-efficient, or very over-worked).

The majority of guys I've seen wear long pants. Even in the tropics. Unless they're tourists. I'm with Dragonrider. I remove mine more because they just don't feel comfortable. Although, over the years, I've gotten to where I don't really feel the need to think about them every other day, so I only remove them when I feel really upset about stuff, or to reduce drag when running for physical tests.:smalltongue:

Try sugaring or hot wax epilation instead to weaken the hair.
You'll get about two weeks of smoothness, and after several sessions, some hair stops growing back.

I have been thinking about trying Nair, because I have the lazys.
To stay smooth, I'd need to shave every day. But...I usually shave once a week or so, depending. Mostly because shaving more often than that irritates the hell out of my skin no matter what I do, plus the hair isn't bad. The stubble usually isn't too rough; just not very smooth. Nair smells icky to me, so I don't use it, haha.
Ricky, nothing wrong with a low drive. It's a more and more common complaint I'm hearing from guys, though, is girls putting a lot of pressure on them when they don't always want to get it on at the drop of a hat. This irritates me to no end because a guy not wanting to is just as valid as a girl not wanting to. Yet, they'll get teased to no ends by girls if it happens in a relationship. Cause guys always want sexings. They never might not be in the mood. Uh-huh. :smallsigh: People aggravate me.
Just talk with your partner about it and it should be fine.
