My friend who's an artificer said that their was a certain sword that when air hit off it, it would make a sound and counted as an instrument for the bard. He said he could make it but I just want to know what its called.

Songblade? Don't know for 3.5, but that's what the "Sword as Bardic implement" enchantments are called in 4e...

Sound you can do (Pandemonic silver and Songblade or somesuch in Complete Adventurer). Bardic music... not so sure.

Harmonizing is a +1 weapon enchant in the MIC, I believe there is also a "specific" weapon with a similar property. Actually the enchantment gives you a +2 competence bonus to Perform (song) checks, and allows your bardic music to stay going while you fight for 10 rounds.

I see, I could always just bash them with my guitar though isn't there always a penalty for improvised weaponry or something?

I've allowed a keyswordtar before. It's maaagic :smallcool:

I always wondered if I could use summon instrument with a piano to drop it on someone. The other idea I had was to carry a barrel on my back and fill it with tons of arrows to make a massive quiver.

This is the best option. You've got a weapon that sings for you! And it doesn't just sing one or two rounds, it's 10 rounds.
