Hey, I just wanted to post this here in case anyone was looking for a robot to run D&D games using Google Wave. I programmed this myself because our DM is moving out of state, and we'll be running games online.

The bot's name is [email protected]. Just add it to a conversation and it will make rolls anywhere you put them.

I was considering making a mapping bot that would make Nethack-style maps and take move commands posted anywhere in the wave. If anyone's interested, let me know, it helps keep me motivated.

My good sir, I am very interested in that. I've always wanted to play online D&D, to see how it is like.

Very cool! A map interface and a dice roller would really make playing there more viable. I think the only other thing we would need is a character sheet that can be edited on wave.

I'm confused. Doesn't Game Table do the exact same thing as this?

Well, for maps, I hear there is already something called fighty (http://www.savevsgeek.com/?s=fighty%2B) and some other thing called fighty+. Not quite sure on the details, but thought I'd mention it.

There is also MapTool, d20Pro, and at least one other... but those don't have anything to do with GoogleWave (whatever that is... voice chat?).

Google Wave. (http://wave.google.com) Check it out.

Also, someone sadly beat you to it. Random Lee (http://randomleetwenty.appspot.com/) is what the WaveGround has been using. Works pretty decently, though there's no anti-cheating mechanism in place, save for shame. :smallwink:

And then there is also [email protected] (http://area42games.com/drupal/dicey) that I wrote which has a slightly different approach. (I am not claiming its better than Random Lee or yours, just preferable to some). Click the link to get documentation or just add [email protected] to your wave and submit "Help()" in part of your wave to get documentation.
