We all know that the metamind, as printed, just doesn't work. You lose far more than you gain, unless you combine the capstone with temporal reiteration. And even that isn't the greatest. Also, it requires you to gain a psicrystal, which, while not intrinsically bad, doesn't fit all concepts.

Class Features
All the following are class features of the metamind prestige class.
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Metaminds gain no proficiency with any weapon or armor.
Powers Known: At every even-numbered level, a metamind gains additional power points per day and access to new powers as if he had also gained a level in whatever manifesting class he belonged to before he added the prestige class. He does not, however, gain any other benefit a character of that class would have gained (bonus feats, metapsionic or item creation feats, and so on). This essentially means that he adds the level of metamind to the level of whatever manifesting class the character has, then determines power points per day, powers known, and manifester level accordingly.
At every odd-numbered level, a metamind gains additional power points per day and an increased manifester level as if he had also gained a level in whatever manifesting class he belonged to before he added the prestige class. He does not, however, gain any other benefit a character of that class would have gained (bonus feats, metapsionic or item creation feats, powers known, maximum power level knnown, and so on). This essentially means that he adds the level of metamind to the level of whatever manifesting class the character has, then determines power points per day, and manifester level accordingly.
If a character had more than one manifesting class before he became a metamind, he must decide to which class he adds the new level of metamind.
Enhanced Capacity (Ex): A metamind adds his class level to his manifester level for the purpose of determining power points per day.
Cognizance Psicrystal (Ex): At 2nd level, a metamind masters the trick of manifesting powers with less effort than usual. He deducts 1 from the power point cost of any power he manifest, to a minimum of 1. This does not allow the metamind to augment a power past its normal limit. That is, the cost of the power is checked against his manifester level before the reduction in cost. At eighth level, the reduction improves to 2.
Gestalt Capacity (Ex): By 5th level, a metamind has mastered the trick of drawing upon an alternative source of mental energy within himself. He chooses a mental stat (Int, Wis, or Cha) that is not the primary manifesting stat for the class he is advancing with metamind. He gains bonus PP/day for that stat in addition to his primary manifesting stat.
Font of Power (Ps): A 10th-level metamind can act as a living cognizance crystal, producing seemingly endless power points once per day, for up to 3 + Con mod rounds. His eyes shine like tiny stars, and faint illumination seems to beam out of his mouth and the end of each of his fingers. While so empowered, he can manifest any of his powers without drawing from his power point reserve. He finds the power points he needs welling up within his own body.
If a metamind using this ability enters a metaconcert, his power point reserve is accessed normally for the purpose of his contributing to the pool.

Well, you certainly made it better than it was... though I think you reached a point where it's far too good. There's absolutely no reason for any psion to not enter as soon as possible.

Do note: You gain NO powers known.

Ah, I missed that part somehow. Okay, that changes things. I still think I'd take it in a heartbeat and just use expanded knowledge/psychic reformation as needed.

Or, Ardents. They're Powers known are primary based on Manifester Level.

Not quite. The highest level power an ardent can learn is dependent on ML, but not actual powers known. To actually learn more powers, you would need to either use EK (which can't get you your highest level of power [which doesn't improve {except for ardents}]), or dip back into your base class.

A psion who entered the new metamind as his sixth level would be unable to grab powers higher than 2nd level with expanded knowledge. If he takes all 10 levels, he gives up 20 powers known, and will never get powers higher than 5th level without shenanigans.

Am i reading this right?

If i'm understanding the combination of Manifester level increases and the Enhanced capacity thing, you gain PP as if you were of level:

New level = Previous manifester level + 2 x Metamind level

What happens when you reach effective level 20 in a manifester class and have to stop? What happens with bonus PP? Are they based on the doubled Metamind level like the class ones or do they scale normally?

Or have your write-ups just gone over the same ground twice and i've jumped on the wrong end of the see saw?

If the latter, you don't really need the whole column of enhanced manifesting, just another class feature at first stating that your Metamind level is added to your ML for purposes of power use and augmentation. [As it is, you're not really gaining a level, just PP and the ability to spend them...]

The way this is currently written up is kind of confusing. It's very easy to miss the "No new powers known" rule.

Also, getting all those power points isn't very useful if you only have access to low-level powers (though augmentation helps somewhat). I'd suggest giving the class partial manifesting progression (like the original metamind), but still improving manifester level at the levels that don't add to the regular progression.
