View Full Version : [3.5] Character Help

I've been making a character for a little while now, but I just can't quite seem to figure out what to do to make his crunch match his personality.

The character is a Sorc2/Favored Soul1/Mystic Theurge1 (planning to go MT rest of the way now) of a homebrew deity in a friend's game. He allowed me to be a different alignment than the deity, who is NE, and so I am LN. I am a selfish and cocky bastard primarily, but many of the elements of my character are (secretly) based off of good intentions, and a fear of being evil. Eg., I turned to the NE deity when I was young to save my sister, willing to 'sell my soul' in a sense for her.

I have a fascination with undead as useful tools, but I'm too arrogant to let them 'have all the fun.' I envision my character having a single strong undead 'bodyguard' at higher levels, and plan to take Command Undead next level, but I'm not interested in specializing in undead per se.

My crunch in further detail is here:

Can anybody suggest some good spells/feats/combinations of those two to help me be justified in my arrogance?

How are you qualifying for MT (class choice notwithstanding) without second-level spellcasting? IIRC, Versatile Spellcaster only lets you combine spells to cast one that you know of a higher level, and you don't know any second-level spells. The normal way to sneak early entry like this needs Sanctum Spell, again, IIRC.

Undead Leadership might be a good feat for you in a few levels to get yourself a good cohort. I'm not sure of what else you might take without more knowledge of your character.

Heighten Spell is my qualifier here. Undead leadership is definitely something for me to look into down the line, but more immediately I'm trying to find a good combination of spells and feats. Reach Spell+Split Ray (and then easy metamagic both) would make for some nasty spells, for instance, but my BAB is even worse than a mage's normally would be :smalleek:

What I'm looking for really is something that can either take down a LOT of foes at once, or a single foe really, really hard.

Edit: It might be worth noting too that I'm a Metamagic Specialist on my sorcerer side.
