Crafted because a player wanted to play a whore and wanted something a bit more specific than the 'Rogue' skillset. That and we couldn't find a decent whore template for D&D.

Whore (Ex): The courtesan starts out with a -2 reputation penalty to Diplomacy, Gather Information and Intimidate checks from being known as a complete and utter slag. As she becomes more refined and respectable, the reputation bonus is cancelled out at level 4 and increases to a +2 reputation bonus at level 8, rising by another +2 every 4 levels thereafter with a bonus +2 at 20th level.

Working Girl (Ex): The courtesan's profession does garner rather more than more 'honest' labour, even if much of it gets taken away by pimps. When making Profession (prostitute) checks, courtesans may make checks to be paid in copper pieces by the hour instead of by the day. At 5th level, they can be paid in silver pieces by the hour instead. At 10th level, this rises to gold pieces by the hour. At 15th level, the courtesan may charge platinum pieces per hour for their time.

Sweet Talker (Sp): The courtesan may attempt to charm a creature of the same basic type (humanoid, fey, outsider etc) as the charm person/monster spell with a duration of one hour as a standard action. Subjects who fail their Will save are charmed for the remainder of the hour, whereupon a new check may be made to keep them under the courtesan's sway. On a successful save, subjects retain/revert to their former attitudes regarding the courtesan. The DC for the check is 10 + 1/2 the courtesan's class level + the courtesan's Charisma modifier. The ability is subject to spell resistance and may be used a number of times per day equal to the courtesan's class level.

At 6th level, the duration extends from 1 hour to 1 day. At 8th level, the ability affects any creature with an Int of 3 or higher that would be subject to charm monster. At 12th level, this becomes a supernatural ability. At 16th level, this becomes an extraordinary ability.

Enthralling (Su): From 3rd level onward, a courtesan may choose to place a creature charmed by their Sweet Talker ability in their thrall. A thrall retains its charmed status until it is killed, released by the courtesan or released by a remove curse or dispel magic spell. The number of thralls a courtesan may hold at any one time is equal to her level divided by 3 (rounded down). Subjects remain enthralled regardless of time or distance away from their mistress, unless they are released or the curse is broken. A courtesan must release her thralls in person, whereupon they instantly return to the attitude toward her they had before they were enthralled.

Madam (Ex): If the courtesan so wishes, she may attract fellow 'workers' and protectors to her establishment. This ability functions as the Leadership feat.

This needs more class abilities! Please suggest additions.

Stuff you could gain inspiration from...

Green Ronin's Testament book has a qedeshot class, which is basically a temple prostitute as exemplified by the Canaanites.

The Book of Erotic Fantasy (aka. the reason WotC changed their d20 system licensing terms) almost certainly has something to say on the topic.

To say nothing of The Guide to Unlawful Carnal Knowledge and Mongoose Publishing's Quintessential Temptress. Overall, this looks like a good, flavorful class. I'll see if I can scrounge up some ideas to fill in the blanks for ya'. Just because I like your moxie. :smallcool: One question, though. You said you developed this for a player. So why is it marked as an NPC class?

If you're going for a true Courtesan and not just a skilled whore, then you should give them more knowledge skills. Historically part of the Courtesan's attraction was how learned she was. They were the only women in there time allowed to openly read and since they had nothing better to do with most of their day, some of them became more knowledgeable then the politicians they were taking to bed.

You may wish to consider the Companions from the show Firefly, exemplified by Inara. Essentially, they screened and chose their own clients, traveled at their leisure, and made incredible amounts of money. They were also skilled in many things, including art, music, history, science, massage therapy, counseling, diplomacy, and even archery and martial arts for self defense. They were whores, yes, but well-trained ones. Maybe this is what you are looking for in regards to high level abilities.
