Item Familiars, XP gain, and LA buyoff

Let's say I'm a character with LA +1, I've just taken my third class level, and I take the Item Familiar feat, invest it with XP, and buy off my LA. How long, given the +10% bonus from Item Familiar, will it take me to become the same level as the rest of the party? (No IF, no LA)

Less than it would if you had no Item Familiar.
