I thought he was smaller than that. I mean I haven't seen that show in like 8 years but aren't all the characters like a few inches tall (squirrels and crabs and lobsters) so shouldn't he be like just a speck that could enter your body without you noticing and destroy your internal organs.

Then again, nothing in Spongebob has spatial relation to other stuff. For example, Spongebob lives in a pineapple (under the sea!), and works for a crab. These two objects should be roughly the same size.
