Actually, so I don't have to be in Arena Manager every time I edit the front post, I'll just do it here.
Also, rolls for placement, 1 for red, and then clockwise from there. I'm thinking we may need to extend the starting areas a bit in case anyone is mounted or something. Once red is taken, 1 will be green, and still go clockwise. Once both go, 1 is blue. You should extrapolate from there how it works.

Do you realize that since you've retired your other guys who had been beaten, I now account for 100% of your defeats? :smalltongue:
Oh, and strategy notions? In a real match I'd say hang back and wait for the fight to come to us, with me constantly readying spells so anyone who tried to advance would be worn down before touching us. But this is an exhibition, so I say we pick someone and try to take 'em down. Ayl/McToughy would be interesting, though even a power player like Fiorella will have trouble draining them down quickly. I do have some scrolls for quick getaways if needed, though. I can't tell if being the only pure mage will be an advantage, or lead to my corpse being the first one on the pile.

Heh...forgot it was you who downed Titus. You sly devil, you.
I like the hunting plan, much more fun. I'll go for a CL 3 potion of Shield of Faith, and hope that's enough AC. I should be able to protect you, especially with such a lack of ranged opponents. With all those spells of yours, we should be able to take down team Elan pretty quick - even if they absorb all the damage from a Seeking Ray, means my axe goes right through. That and I'm against McToughy with Oro right now, and killing him twice would feel good.

My one concern is Ayl's Dissolving Spittle, if he brings that soulmeld into the fray (likely). It is acid damage only, right? Because if I misdiagnose that, he could conceivably burn Fiorella up with a single shot. As soon as I can afford an item that provides +2 Con I'll get Rageclaws, but for now F is fragile.

I don't see anything that says you can't have both up. Only caveat as far as I know is that you can't drink two of the same type and have them stack, nor does it stack with other resistances of the same type. But different ones, no problem.

Yeah, he can only do 2d6 so a 10 resistance makes Dissolving Spittle inefficient. Should we try to get another team in on taking them down? They can only use their Elan damage-negating once a round, so if we could get them attacked more than twice a round they'd fold quickly. Oh, you mind taking your turn in Second Draconic? I think Scorer's waiting on you.
Fiorella will start in R-18, a potion in hand and murder in her eyes.

Well, we'll need a turn to prepare fully, so we can see what the others do first. A 4 on 2 should whittle them out nicely. Sallera's character seems the more dangerous of the 2, McToughy's is all about attrition - if we can isolate just him, he'll go down quickly.

Free: Whisper Last chance for whispering, I guess, so I'll make it count. You can't stay next to me, my Stench of the Dead anti-melee contingent is indiscriminate. I forgot about it, not the first time. If you fail, we should wait until it passes, and by then we should have an idea of who threatens us immediately, and if it's no one, who would be most vulnerable to our combined assault. If you succeed, I say we slowly advance forward readying actions the whole way, avoiding the walls because of potential breaking damage and focusing on covering the choke points. If things start to look grim, I'll retreat to the far corner and just constantly ready to shoot anything that comes within LoE with a Seeking Ray or something. But for the most part, I say we go more or less balls out here, within reason. Caution's for matches with something on the line.

Law Devotion can only be changed at the beginning of your turn, so you can't swap it to AC after making an attack - it's stuck on attack until your next turn, I'm afraid.

Actually, it's been ruled you can. People did it in our previous exhibition, as well as a lot of official matches. Makes the feat rather overpowered, of course, but it seems to be legal. Kyeudo hasn't weighed in or anything, but I think some high refs have.

Unfortunately, poor wording in the feat and a lack of rulings otherwise has given the 'able to swap it on any action' interpretation a degree of precedent. Personally, I'd love to see it fixed, but I wasn't able to find a convincing RAW argument for the intended usage when this whole thing started...

I'm curious how a 25 missed Titus. Your sheet lists your AC as 23, and the only buff you could possibly have up is Shield of Faith, for a total of 25 which my roll hits. Heh, amusing as it might be to let that go on for a while, you should check the map. Color Spray has a range of 15 feet; I can't hit you with it from where I am. That one was directed at Muscles. You I'd have hit with a direct damage spell instead; I don't know a lot of the maneuvers, but I am familiar with Perfect Mind and its ability to bolster Will saves. My odds of success were much higher with Muscles, but now that you've used up the low roll I suspect he'll pass when he shows up to roll the Will save.

Well, he passed it a couple posts above you. So I think I'll take you up on that bet :smalltongue: I probably should have used Solus here, Fi is probably one of the most dominating round champs in Arena history, but against more than one character her flaws become more glaring. As was shown in her previous exhibition, a FFA on some new map where she ended up reamed at the start. Not unlike here.

Yeh, I hate that particular one, but it's been entrenched for far too long, and I was never able to come up with a convincing RAW argument for the way it's supposed to work.
Now then... to heal with the belt, or to try vainly to hit Morekal and heal that way... bah, AC's too high.

It's bogus, no question. Some fool typed action where that word didn't belong, and now it allows for ten rounds with +3 to both attack and AC, essentially. But like Sallera said, banning it flies in the face of Holy RAW. Fortunately, despite it's power it is still a buff, and buffs are finite. It doesn't matter if your opponent has a buff to grant +10 to attack and AC if you've got higher move speed and room to run, after all. My very first match ended in a DQ, but if it hadn't, it would've probably gone down like that. It was some melee mage build from TheTerran, who buffed up to be even stronger than my barbarian Train, but he had only 30 move and no ranged weapons (not that they would have been any good to him if he did). Since he ran away from me at the start I figured he was gearing up his stuff, so I was dancing away and chucking javelins at him when he stopped coming around.

I'm not sure what should happen next. I've been ajacent to you and you've been attacking me, and now you attack me from 10 feet away and I see on your sheet you have a spear. So were the other attacks wrong, or are you using a different weapon and this one is wrong? If the answer is neither, then Morekal is dead.

I see Morekal moving to O14 in round 11, and then McToughy to M14 in round 14.
I can't find any other time during out little skirmish that either of us moved.

Well I'll be darned. It seems that I never attacked McToughy and that you were in fact 10 feet away. Oversight on my part, so Morekal is dead. Technically you haven't won since Titus is still standing. :smallbiggrin: However, if this were a real match he would've been DQ'd. Good game all!

Yeah. Alternatively, you can keep up with the skipping turn thing and just go over there and kill him yourself. Might take a while, though. I guess his Law Devotion wore off, but he still probably has 25 AC or better. So you may just want to call it a win now.
