Hi,

I am new to this area, but a friend recommended I drop by here a while ago.

The basics of this is that I am collecting the entirety of my homebrewed D&D setting/world which I have been working on for nearly three years now into a PDF I will hand out to players, and which I will have professionally printed into about six-ten book copies. Each year or so I would be making an updated copy.

In have a page background already, but I am in need of a cover for it all. The mascot for my campaign world's site is a beautiful female fairy, and the background is blue and white, with a bit of black, so I would like to keep the theme around that.

Here are some images I would have loved to use if I had the permission:

This one is the one I wanted the most (the second one is similar as you can tell):

Others in order of preferred/preferred style/preferred theme/etc:
http://el-grimlock.deviantart.com/art/Fairy-141200246 (A bit to provocative, though. I am looking for beautiful, not sexy)
http://wen-m.deviantart.com/art/Anima-Fairy-of-Light-105290497
http://psycho-firby.deviantart.com/art/fairy-32036096

A very long shot, but anyone have some artwork laying around they would be willing to grant me permission to use? It is not going to be sold, so I can not offer royalties, but maybe we could work something out sort of like a commission? At the very least I would be honored if you would accept a free shipped to you copy of the book as a gift and thank you from me.

I'd offer, but my covers tend towards the abstract, rather than the representational. If you're interested, though, here's a link to my photobucket (http://s948.photobucket.com/albums/ad326/finn_de_siecle/Regulators%20Covers/).

Not quite what I am looking for, but I appreciate the offer.

Most artists I've seen here (Myself included) focus mainly on the OOTS Style stick figures, and I can see that's not what you're interested in. My suggestion would be to peruse threads such as the adoption center (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26936&highlight=adoption) or "OOTS style Fanart and Showcase" (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=122057) threads for artists that may be able to help you. I myself have little artistic expertise outside of the realm of Stick Figures, but I have seen a lot of great drawings that would fit the image you're trying to create.

ON SECOND THOUGHT!
Try looking through the "Arts and Crafts Showcase" (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8736&highlight=arts+crafts) thread(s) specifically. For non-OOTS items I've seen some amazing sketches and computer renderings.

Sorry I can't help you myself, but thought I'd lend a hand how I could.

Do you still need one? I don't have anything made on a computer(I'm horrible with that sort of thing), but I have hundreds of drawings/paintings that might interest you that I could copy onto the computer and P.M. you, or, I could make something new.

Dood, I would love to see your work!

Thank you kindly for the offer.

What kind of art do you do by the way?

Er... just about everything. I've done some abstract stuff but I focus more on landscapes and fantasyish art, I also like to sketch whatever is in front of me.

Do you want anything specific? All I know is that you want a beautiful faerie... Blue, black, and white right? I'll start later today.

Well, something like the first link I posted would be nice if you have something already like that. Basically that is the colors/color patter (is that a term?) I am making the book with in addition to a forestish theme, but it is early enough where I can easily change that.

Also, a fairy like in the third link looking directly out and in a similar pose/doing something similar would be nice if you have something like that.

Please don't bother yourself making something. Anything you have laying around would be appreciated.

Maybe a female Elf in a forest would be nice if you have one. They were the first race on this world to boot.

Longshot, but perhaps an image of ships (ideally Elvish ships, but thats pushing my luck) in the sky would be ideal if you have one (this is how the First Ones (aka the first Elves) came to my world on beautiful flying ships(aka Spelljammer).

Or a beautiful fantasy overworld/overland shot.

Or whatever you have on hand.

Basically, I can work with anything you already have/are nice enough to give me. No need to trouble yourself.

Just curious, do you happen to know how much you need to get those painting out of storage? Maybe I can help as a commission-like?

Dood, I am SO sorry to hear that. So much work, and passion, and time of your life must have gone into those. :smallfrown:
