Intro for Adelid Hrafnsfló, Knight of Lyrerene
Adelid has been working hard trying to keep up with the constant threats that keep occurring in Lyrerene, but it seems like a hopeless cause. This is why the king has declared a new strategy, each knight of Lyrerene will head up a group to quest for the source of the troubles plaguing the land and the successful group will be handsomely rewarded. With her new mission explained Adelid is sent out to form her own group.
Intro for Naivara Boralen
It is a hard journey for Naivara’s squad from their home to the designated rally point at Afrion the capitol city of Lyrerene. By the time they get there the squad has been attacked several times and Naivara is now the sole survivor. what’s worse no other soldiers from her land have arrived and are presumed dead. She is alone in a strange desperate city.
Intro for Quinn
Quinn came to Afrion in Lyrerene when it was still rich and prosperous and where he could make a good almost honest living. But since the shadow fell on the land things have only gone from bad to worse. Not wishing to abandon the people in their hour of need Quinn does what he can but wishes he could make more of an impact on the events in the land.
Intro for Tairen Galsk
When Tairen arrived at the border of the kingdom he is met by his old mentor Lithius Brensle, who then transported them both to Afrion instantly.
“It is not safe these days to travel in Lyrerene alone” explained Lithius
“Which is why the king has ordered his knights to form groups to find and eliminate the source of the evil and as it so happens I know the perfect knight whose group you should join. Come I will introduce you.”
Intro for all
Adelid puts up a notice in the city of Afrion advertising that she is seeking people to accompany her on her noble quest to rid the kingdom of the source of the evil that plagues it. Quinn and Naivara arrive at the place the notice mentions to meet at and Tairen is formally introduced to her by Lithius.

Adelid looked the poster over one more time after nailing it to the board in the market place. Satisfied, she turned and moved over the open square towards the small inn near the city gates. Paying a brief visit to her horse in the stables before entering the inn and heading to the back room on the second floor mentioned on the poster. From here the window provided a good view over the city. Adelid walked up to the window and rested her hand on the frame as she pondered the city and the task ahead.

Adelid turned to Tairen, for the most part ignoring his initial tone "When things elude you it is always good to have an extra set of eyes, as they say. May I ask your name, sir?"

He then walked into the room, sat on a chair, and began to smoke his pipe, looking outside.

This is my chance to finally do something useful.
Entering the inn he asks the barkeep for the correct room and buys a flagon of ale, the floorboards creaking under his immense bulk. He knocks on the door then enters the room.

Naivara, Eladrin Warlord
Naivara nods to Quinn outside of the inn. "Naivara." she said simply before following Quinn inside. Walking inside the inn she still walks with the confident grace of a soldier, but her face betrays a level of haggardness inflicted by the journey. Joral Dead. Quilanna dead. The entire squad killed except for her, who managed to drag herself into the city gates. Worse, there would be no reinforcements, no grand campaign of revenge.
She thumped the haft of her spear on the ground when the line of introductions reached her. "I am Naivara Boralen, first spear of leaf squad of the Autumn Battalion. Shae Shaeorath sends help."
Naivara's eyes flicked back and forth around the room in an uncomfortable manner. "And I fear that I am it."

He greets his new met companions with a clear gesture from his hands, and is especially intriqued by the dragonborn. Havn't seen many of those, let's see what this puppy can do.

Adelid welcomes Quinn, and turns to Naivara "I can not express my sadness at what you tell. But there is hope yet, and with your help perhaps we can root up this evil that has befallen the lands and avenge those who have fallen."
She looks around at everyone gathered "It seems we may not be more than this. So lets get right to business. As you certainly know, dark times have befallen these lands, and so far the source of it all has eluded us. We have fought hard, but our efforts seem for nought. The king has issued a new strategy in response. Every knight at his disposal is to split up and form a specialized group of their own. It is our hope that this will allow us to reach further and deeper into this matter. This is why I have called you here. Much is at stake, but something must be done. The king has of course offered a substantial reward to the group who succeeds, but I should hope gold is not the motivation here. There are many lives at stake, and many fallen to avenge."
She pauses and gazes out the window "Unfortunately, I am afraid we have little to go by at the moment. I myself know very little. These events began about a month ago, and the lands have been struggling ever since. We don't know what is behind it, or even where to begin looking for it. It was my hope that perhaps by pooling not just our skills at arms, but also our respective knowledge and eyes, we could perhaps get a breakthrough of some kind." She turns back to look at everyone "Anything you may have seen or heard could be of great help, so we may as well start by getting on the same level."

Tairen stiffened slightly at the sight of the Eldarin. She looked as though she had been dragged through hell. It was unfortunate to see her eyes in such a state. Eldarin are something else.
His other companions all looked well built as well. There was after all the extremely large Dragonborn that had walked in before the Eldarin. If we get into trouble I know who I'm hiding behind.
Aldelid interrupted his thoughts as she began explaining the current situation in the kingdom. He felt a twinge as he thought of his parents. He quickly suppressed those thoughts and did not want to be the first to speak. But, he wanted to know more about what was happening. He had heard nothing of the state of the kingdom except recently from Master Brensle. He shook his head and said, "I have heard nothing."
He waited to hear if the others had seen or heard anything to ask the question that was stuck in his head, "So we think there is some source and that is not just random evil?"

Naivara, Eladrin Warlord
Naivara eyes met Barius' for a moment, then she inclined her head in a measure of thanks, and politely removed his hand from his shoulder. She straightened up again into a military posture.
"I only know what I have seen on my way here." She began, speaking in short, clipped tones. "Animals and beasts that should flee from armed soldiers attacking them recklessly. Beasts that should mindlessly fight to the death retreating, regrouping, and ambushing. Eyes that follow you throughout the night."
Naivara's posture slipped for a second as she craned her neck to look upwards. "Spiders. We should make sure there are no spiders in here."

Adelid glances around for spiders, a little perplexed by that remark That is more or less what we have been struggling with, yes. Well, aside from the spiders. We suspect there is some source behind it, because it seems foolish to believe these things are happening for no reason at all. We have been fighting these things, but we have no idea what is behind it. If we are to do anything about it, we need to find some sort of lead to follow. We may have no other option than going out and asking around, to see what people have heard or seen. Or otherwise rely on our luck to simply stumble upon something by chance, however little I like that idea.

As you finish talking there is a loud knock on the door
The opens as 2 men walk in, one is wearing standard armor and weapons typical of the city guard, from the look of his rank markings he is a private, the other wears fancy white and silver robes with a insignia marking him as a member of the royal wizard's court (wizards that work for the king)
private:*gives a respectful low bow to Adelid* "I’m sorry to disturb you miss Adelid but I bring an important message from my captain, Guile, he says there have been a large number of reports of people disappearing from the city, mostly women and children, the captain says he would like you and your group to look into it"
wizard: "I’m afraid I also bear grin news, the wizard's court has reason to believe that there is foul magic being used to alter the very land itself, we have found evidence of this taking place in the green fields area in the south west portion of the kingdom, as you know most of the kingdom's wheat comes from that area and now there are reliable reports of whole acres of land being turned into swamps, this is a most serious situation"
ooc: so that you players know all 3 quests will need everyone to be involved you can’t split the party to deal with them, the 2 that you don’t take will be picked up by other NPC groups.

Tairen was startled by the sudden surge of events. After the ranger left, after hearing two words about what is happening. Then, the reactions to that. He was prepared to follow the Dragonborn out to the merchant.
------------------------
Then the news just got worse. He was not sure what to do. He did not say anything at all as the events transpired. It seemed there was difficult choice for the group. After the wizard finished speaking he consider the condition to be far worse than he thought. There must be a half dozen more villages going through the same. Aldelid was right we have to stop the source. "This may be biased. But, I'd say that whatever is causing whole lands into swamps may be behind the rest of the evil we plaguing the kingdom. Adelid returns the private's greeting and listens quietly to the news, pondering the various options "As much as it pains me to ignore the cries of those in need, it seems clear to me what must be done. These things can't be coincidences, it is as we have suspected. The attack on the village and the lands being turned into swamps, these are clearly acts intended to weaken the kingdom and our ability to fight back. The food we receive from these places are vital and without them we surely won't last long and will be ripe for a later assault. We haven't seen the worst yet." She pauses to think, trying to put herself in the place of the enemy "The nature and purpose of the abductions within the city are not clear to me. However, all these things happening at the same time suggests that the attacks outside the city are also meant as distraction from the seemingly much less critical events within the city. A cover for the true threat within. It is my opinion that we should investigate the disappearances in the city, clearly someone doesn't want attention drawn there so that's where we are most likely to get to the source of all this."

I find it peculiar that no one around here knows of the disappeared. He looks for the nearest alleyway and makes his way towards it. I don't suppose we need bait. He closed his eyes and thought of his hometown.
He walks up and down the alley looking around for anything out of the ordinary. If he see nothing attention-grabbing, he plops down in the nearest suitable area and leans back and waits for nightfall.

((May not be chaos for you as the DM, depending on how you keep track of things, but it is for me and I can't imagine I'm alone. I can keep track of my own character, and I do, but knowing how the others are faring is pretty vital if you want the slightest chance of protecting or otherwise aiding the others effectively. For example, Barius has taken a fair amount of damage so far (in fact he's almost bloodied), something I was completely unaware of until I made the following quick list
Barius : 22/43 hp
Adelid : 44/54 hp, blinded (save ends)
Quinn : 37/44 hp, blinded (save ends)
Naivara : 47/47 hp
Tairen : 40/40 hp
Nadarr : 52/52 hp
It may lack some things, it was just a quick one, and it would be nice to know the status of the enemies too. For example, one was marked by me, was it the one that got killed? I think it must have been, but I'm not entirely sure. And does some of them have other conditions, or are some of them badly wounded and perhaps worth focusing on? I could try to go back and find out, but constantly having to go back and search through posts to find something like that out is tiring, especially when you have to do it constantly for everything. And that shouldn't be necessary either.))

Tairen Galsk
Tairen hearing the man approach and looked up at him. Hearing the word "goods" made his hair stand on the back of his neck. This man was talking of people as commodities. We haven't got any "goods" with us. He went to move past the man.
