An Oversized Dwarf

Oversized Template:
The Oversized Template can be add to any non-Giant:
Size and type: Size remain unchanged, type change to Giant.

Hit Dice: All racial Hit dice (including those gain after the application of this template) become d8

Base Attack Bonus: Bab change to 3/4 racial Hit dice

Special abilities: An Oversized retains all the base creature special abilities and gain Expansion.

Special qualities: An Oversized lose all the trait from it’s previous type but otherwise retains all the base creature special qualities and gain Low light vision and Powerfull build.

Base save Bonus: An Oversized gain a good Fortitude save, the other become poor

Abilities: +2 Strength

Skills: 2+Int per hit dice (x4 for the first).

Feats: An Oversized gain Powerfull charge as a bonus feat (ECS p57 or MH p27), your Powerfull build ability also let you qualify for feat (or prestige class) as if you were one size category larger

Challenge Rating: +1

Level adjustement: +1

Powerful Build (Ex): The physical stature of Oversized lets them function in many ways as if they were one size category larger. Whenever an Oversized is subject to a size modifier or special size modifier for an opposed check (such as during grapple checks, bull rush attempts, and trip attempts), the Oversized is treated as one size larger if doing so is advantageous to him. An Oversized creature is also considered to be one size larger when determining whether a creature’s special attacks based on size (such as improved grab or swallow whole) can affect him. An Oversized can use weapons designed for a creature one size larger without penalty. However, his space and reach remain those of a creature of his actual size. The benefits of this ability stack with the effects of powers, abilities, and spells that change the subject’s size category.

Expansion (Ps): An Oversized can use Expansion as a Psi-like ability three time per day to grow on size category larger with a manifester level equal to half his hit dice. If the Oversized has 14 hit dice or more he can grow two size category larger instead.

*Note on cosmetic change: The creature grow bigger, (but not enough to change size category) always giving the imprresion that his clothe will burst at any moment.

The Template Project (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?p=8492255#post8492255)

Designer note:

I like this one but I was a little hesitant with powerfull build and expansion as a psi-like ability but it's only once per day so i think it's alright.
I'm pretty happy with the feat too particulary allied riding I think it could fun to see that in game.

I'd say that size should increase by one category, or at least there should be a feat with the same result. Otherwise, it's not really an "oversize" creature.

That would work if he wasn't trying to keep it to LA and CR +1... Then again I would think that Powerful Build would technically be BETTER than gaining a size category per se.

DracoDei got it right a real size increase would be too much plus it would be impractical if you want to play a medium race you become large and can't go everywhere easily.

Does this make them humanoid in form? You may want to mention this.

Not this one, they just grow bigger within the limit of their size category.
