Is there a PrC around somewhere that gives you cool features for your familiar? Preferably one compatable with the Invoker (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=153863) class.

My familiar is a Drakken Cat that breathes fire, courtesy of Dragon Magic.

do you mean continues the progression like a wizard(or such) or is focused on giving you an awesome familiar? I don't know of either however

There's one called The Familiarist that was pretty fun when I used it years ago. I can't recall where it came from though.

If you don't mind the tentacles, the fleshwarper from the Lords of Madness can give you all manner of boosts to your familiar such as the aforementioned tentacles or a size increase.

Ah, yes. I forgot about that one. I like that class.

This character was going to be more of a good guy though, and that one is a little... creepy. Thanks for the input.

Edit: I'm making some slight alterations to the familiarist to make it more in line with the Invoker and Warlock classes, granting the familiar invocations instead of spells. This should be good enough, but any other suggestions are more than welcome.

Well, you would have to re-write it* since you don't get Eldritch Blast, but you might try my Coward's Strike Warlock (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=171845). Fair warning though, it does NOT make your familiar a better combatant exactly... it IS an offensive class, but your familiar's job is to sneak around, and the sneaking makes it easier for the master to blast away without catching any return fire. If your familiar breaths fire, it is going to be catching a lot of attacks. Then again, if your familiar is more durable than you are, then, by all means, go for it.

*A bit ironic since it is, itself, a re-write of a sorcerer/wizard class, but whichever...

EDIT: I guess getting Improved Toughness for your familiar is nothing to sneeze at...
