Some Hellforged Wonders.

The Lance That Pierced The Sun (Artifact ●●●●, Sapience ●●●●)

This Vitriol-tainted Starmetal Dire Lance is sized for a Warstrider to wield. The massive amounts of Starmetal that went into its creation were gathered solely from the butchered remains of Celestial Gods that chose to side with the Unconquered Sun during the Primordial War, despite their geas to serve the Titans.

Its creation was commissioned by Gorgias, the Solipsism Reflected In Dying Minds, Fifteenth Soul of She Who Lives In Her Name, who sacrificed two of its Second Circle Souls - one for the creation of this lance, and the other for the creation of its sister artifact, the Hellstrider, First in Emptiness. After their successful births, the two sisters marched into battle, in perfect sync with one another, and the massacre was impressive, even by that dreadful War's standards. However, their true purpose was not to slay the lowly armies of the Sun's Chosen - but rather to bring low the Sun itself.

In those days, the Daystar - now known as the Sun by Creation, and mistakenly confused as an aspect of Sol Invictus, was the greatest firepower the usurpers had to wield. Even though it was a prime target for the forces of the Primordials, it was protected by the Absolute Horizon Barrier, a force-field that, up until that point, had yet to yield to any force, which allowed it to fire its dazzling array of destructive weapons with impunity.

But no longer. From the battlefield, First in Emptiness launched her spear upwards. Propelled by its hatred for all light, it soared at a terrifying speed, the reflective surface of its Starmetal hide shining a grim rainbow that glinted off the fallen gore of the skirmish below. It pierced the Absolute Horizon Barrier with but a small effort, and crashed loudly into the burning exterior of the Daystar. Previously unknown to pain, the Daystar howled an alien noise that resonated from one side of Creation to the other.

That day, the Titans drove the Sun away, and won many victories against their treacherous former-minions. Of course, they would ultimately lose the War, but the weapon that would come to be known as the Lance That Pierced The Sun remained as a testament to their power, and was held high in countless battle to come, to rally broken troops and give the adversaries of the Primordials pause before advancing, its tip still crowned with the dried, luminescent blood of the Daystar.

Urge: Extinguish all light from Creation.

Charms:
Absolute Field Negation - This is a charm unique to the Lance That Pierced The Sun. By spending 5 motes and 1 willpower as a Reflexive action, the wielder may energize it for one action to perfectly bypass and destroy all shields forged of essence, inertia, or energy that attempt to stop it from reaching its intended destination. If the shielding effect has a duration less than Indefinite or Permanent, it ends. If the shield is Indefinite or Permanent, it is simply deactivated for 1 scene. Although this charm does not pierce perfect defenses, it specifically negates the defensive properties of the Absolute Horizon Barrier that protects the Daystar. Activating this charm is an Innate Ability and is not considered a charm activation.
Sky-Cutting Flight - This is a charm unique to the Lance That Pierced The Sun. By spending 5 motes, the wielder may throw the Lance as if it were a Thrown weapon. It addition, its range is the wielder's maximum visibility, and it incurs no penalties based on the distance it is thrown. Activating this charm is an Innate Ability and is not considered a charm activation.
Hurry Home - The Lance returns to the hands of its owner.
Bane Weapon - The Lance is particularly damaging against things that are radiating light from their body. This would include Fire Elementals, most kinds of Exalted displaying a high level of their anima banner, the Sun, and similar.
Principle of Motion - The Lance may maintain a number of banked actions equal to its wielder's Willpower.
Amethyst Awareness - In addition to this charm's normal effects, while it is effecting the wielder, they may see as well in darkness as they do in light. This does not allow them to see if they are blind.
Second Ability Excellency - Melee, Thrown
Infinite Ability Mastery - Melee, Thrown

First in Emptiness (Artifact ●●●●●)

Sister to The Lance That Pierced The Sun, First in Emptiness is a Hellstrider created from Ravenous Mother of Worthless Offspring. Though, in life, she had a multitude of children (in the form of First Circle Demons), she was devout in her belief that her own consciousness was the only thing that could be verified of existing, and thus could not see her children as anything other than meaningless lumps of flesh or bits of data, try as she might to love them. In despair, she would often cannibalize other demons, and would feel momentary contentment as she felt the pulse of their essence inside her, before they were fully digested and she returned to her loneliness.

As the Indulgent Soul of Gorgias, she was powerless to refuse his demand for her to be transformed into a weapon of war. In the infinite cruelty of the demonic artisans that shaped her, they used ten of her own children, the Pigritia, as the First Circle Demon components of the Hellstrider. Their minds, tortured and enfeebled by the crafting process, are now inexorably linked to their mother's, and they cannot stop their thoughts from bleeding into one another. They know their mother is incapable of loving them, and she too knows that they know this. It is only in the bloodlust of battle that the new Hellstrider, First in Emptiness, may find surcease of their boundless sorrow and torment. It is this reason that makes it so temperamental. In the days of the Primordial War, if more than a day went by without the mental release of murder, it was nearly guaranteed that the Hellstrider would reach its limit, go berserk, break its bonds and devour anything unfortunate enough to be in the vicinity.

Other than the demonic components, First in Emptiness incorporates a substantial quantity of vitriolic Starmetal, among the standard malfean brass and demonic ivory. When viewed next to its Lance, there is absolutely no mistaking that the two were meant to be together, even to the mundane observer. In addition, their compositions share bits and pieces of the same dead gods, giving their essence patterns an eerie unity - like two halves of a very morbid puzzle; assuming one has the Essence Sight to notice it.

Thrashklaive (Artifact ●●●, Sapience ●)

The original concept for these Vitriol-tainted Soulsteel Daiklaives was born of Ümläüt, the Mëtäl Cïty, Eighth Soul of Malfeas. Both literally a small city in the greater region known as Malfeas made entirely of metal, and figuratively the most brutally Metal soul in Malfeas' hierarchy, Ümläüt expresses his progenitor's desire for song and dance via Death Metal and Headbanging, respectively.

Each Thrashklaive is created from the essence of a single Metalhead, the First Circle progeny of Hessian, the Expressive Soul of Ümläüt, and takes the shape of a black guitar riddled with cracks that pulsate with a green light. They always have at least a single hearthstone socket. Though they may be used as a bludgeoning weapon, the primary power of the Thrashklaive is only usable when a Hearthstone of any level has been inserted into it and the user has at least two dots of Performance.

With these prerequisites met, by paying 2 motes as a Reflexive action while the user is actively playing the Thrashklaive, they may cause a swirling vortex of green and black energy to shatter a floating portal into existence behind them. From the portal, two massive soulsteel amps protrude, linking themselves to the Thrashklaive via a slender band of essence. While hooked up to the amps, the user's music may be heard for miles. As long as the user stays within (Essence) yards of the amps, he may make social attacks using his Performance ability that effect all within (Essence x 50) yards and do not require words to convey meaning. The user's music may carry even the most intricate of meanings across language barriers, influencing even creatures that do not normally have a language (such as animals), so long as they can hear the music.

Urge: Make Metal the dominant genre of music in all the cosmos

Charms:
Divine Prerogative - While the user is attuned to the Thrashklaive, they have an Intimacy of Metal (All-Consuming Passion). In addition, while attuned, betraying the Intimacy is an Unacceptable Order.

While implied by the rules, it still might be good to put a note on Absolute Field Negation saying it doesn't pierce perfect defenses other than Absolute Horizon Barrier. (Unless you intend it to pierce perfects, in which case no just no.)

Thrashklaive = Win.

What ability does the Thrashklaive for Accuracy and Defense?

EDIT: Wait... It's a Melee weapon. My bad, its focus on music threw me a little.

Ah, good point, I'll go and clarify that a bit better.

Thrashklaive = Win.

That's the moon, silly, not the sun.

...heh :smallwink:

Yes, it's not a particularly good melee weapon and, optimally, a combat-focused character would probably carry this in addition to something better, but I figured it would do okay for a social character who isn't likely to spend the artifact dots on a Grand Goremaul and can, instead, wail on people with his guitar.

Sure thing. I just put up some fluff to begin with. More fluff to come later, and then I'll start slowly constructing its stats (Hellstriders are pretty complicated to build :smallsigh:).

So... What would a variant of the Thrashklaive appropriate to Stairway to Heaven be like, do you think?
