See, I need to figure out how to make a template for constructs that allows them to combine.

Any ideas for how it would work?

This breaks RAW, but the symbiotic creature template allows one creature (the brains) to be attached to a creature at least two size categories larger then it (the brawn). Unfortunately, technically only humanoids, animals, vermin, and plants can do this.

Well, I'm trying to think of a way to get them to not always be combined, and only do that for, well, battles and the like as well as being the same(ish) size category.

Because, really, I had an awesome idea involving the Immortal's Handbook Beastiary's size charts, the Effigy template, Krimm's gunmen subtype, and this potential template.

The reason for the idea? The thread about the monk's soul bound to a giant mechanical spider, that has devolved to "Mechanus- Transformer or not?".
