View Full Version : Group magic and alternative epic magic (3.5)

I`m currently building a campaign setting which epic magic will be a great part of.
But people on the forum always say that epic magic is unbalanced, broken, horrible etc. I thought about searching in the forum for an alternative system, but the search doesn`t work for me. So, can you recommend any good alternative epic spells rules?
Also, what about group magic? I know there is some in some expansion books, but from what I`ve heard it`s only for some PRC and I`m sure someone made an alternative system for that too.

You have two choices with Epic Magic:

1. Use Leadership/summoning/misc abuse to get the Spellcraft DCs down to as close to 0 as possible, thus making them world breaking.

2. Suk hard. Stuff like Meteor Swarm, I built using Epic Spell Rules costs about 1 million gp to learn, even a simple Detect Magic would cost several thousands.

You can of course take option 1 an intentionally limit yourself but that's just tedious.

I remember an alternative system (I think it was a PDF someone made) but can't find it atm sorry.
