View Full Version : The Tomb of Eldritch Horrors- Vote Up Dungeon Thread

Hello, playgrounders! I've had this idea of having the community help put together a 3.5 dungeon of our own devising. Once we decide the basics, we can have individual pieces submitted by you guys and smashed together into one giant dungeon of awesomeness!

Now for the basic criteria for the setting:

Standard dungeon, natural cave, ruined temple, etc.
(Or Suggest your own)

Scale of 1-10
1 is Monty Haul, and 9 is the Tomb of Horrors.

Level Range
1-5, 6-10, 11-15, 16-20, 21-30, 31+

My vote:
Setting: Planar setting
(Favorite: Planar metropolis in the plane of shadows, the town has everything you wish, black market, magic market etc, but its streets are totally unguarded and monsters (of the stealthy type) roam freely and feast upon the weak)

7 or 8 (not sure there): Foreign magic, unexpected encounters and evil guilds, the players must be on their toes 24 hours / day, even when they are haggling at a shop (especially then).

Level range: 9+ (preferably 16-20)
(Sample plot): The totally evil and powerful lord of the town acquired the ancient relic of doom and the players must first locate it in a place hostile to normal magic. Enter allied to the BBEG guilds, hostile to the BBEG guilds and guilds that are indifferent or so horrible that no sane person would ask their help.

Type: Dorfen Fortress.

Difficulty: 11.

Level: 9-20.

Suggested dangers: Dorfs. Carp. Zombie Carp.

Type: A deugar fortress

Difficulty: 9

Suggested threats: Lots of psionic stuff

Setting : Abandoned Temple to some eldritch horror

Difficulty : 8-9 ; everything wants you dead, even the building itself.

Level range : 16-20

Suggested Dangers : traps, crazed cultists, aberrations, random dangers, walls changing places, holes opening up, reality collapsing around you, wild magic, random spell effects.

So high difficulty, medium to high level seems to be the consensus so far.
