Well, I need the help of an artist and unfortunately, I don't know very many. So, I am forced to turn to the Playground for help. Not that that's a bad thing. There are plenty of talented artists here, which is exactly what I'm after. For what, you ask?

For a "Let's Play" (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ptitle8zx0nomxzqc5). If you're familiar with the concept, then skip this paragraph. If you aren't, then I suggest reading the article I linked. It's a pretty simple idea, though, essentially boiling down to "playing a game for those who haven't played it themselves." They have exploded in popularity over the internet, evolving into things that are far beyond what they once were. In any event, knowing what an LP is isn't necessarily a requirement, so let's move on to the specifics.

The game that I will be LPing is the Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. Normally, this would be something that a single person could reasonably handle, but with the plans I have, I need something more to really make it shine. I plan to be rewriting some parts of the story and creating events that couldn't possibly happen given the limitations of the game engine. Which is where an artist comes in.

I need someone to craft pictures to go along with my screenshots and writings that help build the atmosphere, show off the characters and portray things that I can't do with the game itself. Ideally, I'd like to have one or even two drawings per update, along with some additional preliminary artwork such as character portraits for when the thread goes live.

While I'm not going to limit any entries, do note that it would be nice to maintain a somewhat consistent style. The concept art of Morrowind (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Concept_Art) is beautiful, and has a certain unpolished, sketchy look to it, which fits the game to a tee. For example:

http://images.uesp.net//c/c7/MW-Concept10.jpg

Having someone who could draw in a similar style would be perfect, but not necessarily required. I just thought I'd clarify exactly what I'm looking for. The best examples I can give are the following pictures, depicting small scenes:

Now, I am aware that this is somewhat of a demanding request, but you won't necessarily be doing it for free. I am willing to back my word with a bit of money as well. You see, I plan to host the LP on the Something Awful forums, and as you may or may not know, you must pay in order to register an account there. The person that I choose to join me in my endeavor will get a free account from me, including the ad-free and archive upgrades as well. I'm also willing to purchase further upgrades down the line as well depending on how well things work out. You'll also get a hand in the development of the LP itself, so if you're a fan of Morrowind, then I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Well, hopefully I didn't scare anyone off. I feel like I wandered all over the place when I was writing, so if anything is unclear or you have any questions, just ask and I'll gladly answer. If you are interested, then go ahead and let me know along with some of your work to give me a good example of what you can do. I'd ask that if you are interested, make sure you can work with relative frequency. I won't demand you give me full-page, colored layouts five times a week, but expect at least a "once per week" schedule. Note that this LP won't be going live for quite a while yet, so you'll have plenty of time to prepare. As such, I expect that this search will be ongoing for a while yet.

Now, show me what you've got, playgrounders!

Those are quite some requirements you have there... being a good artist with a similar style to the original art of Morrowind and willingness to join SA? :smallwink:

Good luck with that search of yours.
