I have a couple of quick questions.

1. What is the highest non-epic bonus, attack and special ability, that can be applied to weapons/armor.

2. What is the highest non-epic skill bonus that an item can provide?

3. What is the highest non-epic ability modifier that an item can provide?

4. In what book can this information be found?

Thanks for any and all responses!

P.S. - Sorry if this is redundant / inappropriate to have. Mods feel free to lock/delete if deemed appropriate.

1. +5 to either side, enhancement and special ability, for a maximum +10.

2. Skill bonuses are pretty vague, usually +10 or +15. Depends on the price and power of the item.

3. +6 enhancement bonus.

4. 3.5 Player's Handbook.

Well, I don't know how relevant this is... but this is the most awesome NON "epic" weapon I have found..

1. Max +5 enhancement bonus, max +5 for any single special ability, max +10 total. Note that the special ability max is for each individual ability, not the total, so a +1 Keen Flaming Holy Vorpal weapon is valid and non-epic. The special abilities total +9, but no single ability is more than +5 and the total of them and the enhancement bonus does not exceed +10.

2. +30

3. +6

4. At least some of these limits are in the DMG, though there they're described as absolute limits rather than "non-epic" limits. They are also in the Epic Level Handbook and the SRD (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/epic/magicItems/basics.htm).

These are the kind of question that the Simple Q&A by RAW (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=184173) thread is for, but there's nothing strictly wrong or inappropriate about posting it outside of that thread.

Thanks for the replies! I've tried finding the answers in the DMG, but i've failed to find them every time.

Could I bother anyone for page numbers so I could make notes for future references? Thanks ahead of time.

It's also debatable that you can use a "Bane" enchantment on a +5 weapon to have your weapon count as +7 against certain enemies.
