So, there was an Iron Avatarist competition back in November. The votes are tallied and the awards have been announced, but there are still no trophies. Fortunately, it seems like an easy problem to solve. My avatar holds a crowbar (for obvious reasons). I'd like to take that crowbar, stick it on a pedestal, color the whole thing gold, silver, and bronze, and call them the "Best Game Scene" trophies. If you have a famous video game weapon or item, also available in an easy to edit raster format, perhaps you could donate it and we can get the rest of the trophies done lickety split?

I'll try to take care of my trophy sometime this week.

You should really talk to Vorpal Tribble about this first. Someone might already be working on it.

For example, I'm working on the Order of Cthulhu trophies.

PC PC's is the one competition that I've still had no takers, so would be glad to have them.

Any chance of doing them all, or at least Best Overall? It'd be nice to have best scene, but still have a number of categories that'll probably never be awarded then.

I could try, if you really have no takers.

If you would like to share, I can make some categories too.

Awesome, group effort!

Ok, y'all discuss which you want to do and go for it. I'll post'em as I get them http://www.giantitp.com/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif

Just a quick update. Really dropped the ball on this. I think it has been two weeks now. That's what happens when you make a late night promise.

Good news is the trophy is almost ready. I just need to figure out how to get the metals just right. Really happy with the wood grain texture.

The white sections and the grey ends of the crowbar will be colored and gradient-ed gold, silver, and bronze, assuming I can figure out how to do a decent polished metal texture in Inkscape. If you have a favorite tutorial, feel free to post it.

For those of you who want to help or experiment, the .svg file can be found here (http://www.gilberti-industries.com/miselaneous-files/CrowbarTrophy.svg) (if I had been smart I would have made the page smaller before I put it online).

Ironically the trophies for PC PC's was sent me this evening. Think you'd be interested in doing future contests, Scienceguy?
