The crest of the village I come from in Sweden, and the local unofficial symbol for the village, a roosted carved out of one piece of birch wood.
I got it kind of as a reminder to myself that I'll always have that part of me where ever I go. Got it 10 years after I moved abroad.

My newest idea is a tesla coil with a clean circle around it and gentle waves flowing a little bit out of that. I'd draw a picture, but I don't like to draw on a trackpad.

Namely, the 17 planar symbols. The first three I plan to get are #11 (the Abyss; on the back of my right hand), #2 (Arcadia; on the back of my left hand), and #17 (The Outlands, probably at the nape of my neck, it and Arcadia may change locations though).

See, even though I know the line correctly by heart, mentally I always remember it as "strength", and not "what is best in life". I've wanted the tattoo to say "strength", but now that I've read the article, I'm torn... I want to do the real quote, with Conan's response on the opposite.

I had an idea? I was saying "just get the question, screw having the answer as a tattoo" and to use it as a conversation piece.

As for me, I reaaaally need to figure out the future locations of all 17 symbols. I've got like 10 of them planned out (back of hands, nape of neck, shoulders, center of chest, tops of feet, upper arms). That leaves another 7 though. Also, at the most reasonable estimate I've been given... the whole set is like $1700. :smallsigh: Oh well.

Then, I channeled my inner geek and made a new one... entirely out of Stargate point-of-origin symbols.

I have a tattoo, but the only clear picture of it is a rather crappy one on Facebook, who has since changed their picture programmes to make it difficult to share on sites like this.

A brief description puts it as a katana on my right forearm with the words ULTIMA RATIO REGUM underneath it.

So, I've decided; one bicep's going to have a scroll with "What is best in life?" in illuminated text, while the other is going to have a banner draped about a sword, saying "What can you trust?" at the top and "This you can trust." at the bottom.

It's exactly the type of tattoo they warn you never to get. This was taken same day as I got it, hence florid colorings, it's black and white with some shadings.
