These are a few Necromancy spells that I cooked up for a character in a friend's old campaign, and I thought I'd share them, not to mention see if they're appropriate for their spell levels. Enjoy/Critique!

Baldric's Cataclysmic Corpse
Necromancy
Level: Sor/Wiz 3
Components: V, S, M
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Close (25 ft. +5 ft./2 levels)
Target: See text
Area: 20-ft.-radius spread
Duration: Permanent until discharged (D)
Saving Throw: See text
Spell Resistance: Yes

Those who suffer a violent death leave behind the anguish of their final moments. Sometimes, the suffering of the individual is so great that their spirit haunts the location of their death, unable to move on. After studying the process of death and the suffering that comes with it, the Chirurgeon Necromancer Baldric Blackadder created this spell, which taps into the residual energy of a fresh corpse, causing the energy to build up into an explosive force. Any creature coming within 10 feet of the affected corpse will trigger an explosive wave of negative energy, dealing 1d6 points of negative energy damage per caster level (maximum 10d6) to every creature within the blast, Will save half. The explosion also stuns any creature caught within the blast for 1d4 rounds, unless they succeed on a Will save.

Material Component
One corpse belonging to any creature with an Intelligence score slain within 1 hour per caster level.

Baldric's Apotheosis of Life and Death, Lesser
Necromancy
Level: Clr 4, Sor/Wiz 3
Components: V, S, F
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Touch
Target: Touched creature
Duration: 1 hour/level
Saving Throw: Fortitude negates
Spell Resistance: Yes

This spell grants a +2 bonus on all saving throws made to resist sleep, stun, paralysis, poison, or disease, as well as saving throws made to resist ability damage, ability drain, or energy drain and a +2 bonus to Strength and Dexterity for the duration of the spell. These are considered a circumstance bonus.
When cast on an undead recipient, they lose immunity to the above effects but adopt the bonuses given by the spell and can resume the functions of a living creature that they no longer possess for the duration of the spell.

Focus: An umbilical cord preserved through embalming.

Baldric's Bone Bulwark
Necromancy
Level: Clr 6, Sor/Wiz 5
Components: V, S, M
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Personal
Target: You
Duration: 10 minutes/level
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: Yes (harmless)

With the aid of his advanced anatomical and necromantic knowledge, the Chirurgeon Necromancer Baldric Blackadder created this spell, which creates a layer of strengthened bony ribs on the caster's arms, legs, and torso, as well as a skull-like helmet. This protective layer provides a +7 natural armor bonus against all physical forms of attack, damage reduction 5/bludgeoning, and cold resistance 15. The bone bulwark is destroyed by the attacks it absorbs; when it has absorbed an amount of damage equal to three times your caster level, the armor falls into useless brittle shards.

Material Component
A rib bone from a humanoid creature.

Baldric's Apotheosis of Life and Death
Necromancy
Level: Clr 6, Sor/Wiz 5
Components: V, S, F
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Touch
Target: Touched creature
Duration: 10 minutes/level
Saving Throw: Fortitude negates
Spell Resistance: Yes

This spell grants a +4 bonus on all saving throws made to resist sleep, stun, paralysis, poison, or disease, as well as saving throws made to resist ability damage, ability drain, or energy drain and a +4 bonus to Strength and Dexterity for the duration of the spell. These are considered a circumstance bonus. The recipient of the spell also gains 25% resistance to critical hits, as the light fortification armor special ability.
When cast on an undead recipient, they lose immunity to the above effects and critical hits but adopt the bonuses given by the spell and can resume the functions of a living creature that they no longer possess for the duration of the spell.

Focus: An umbilical cord preserved through embalming.
