We've got our 50,001st, DrScientist!

I've only been here for a relatively short time, but this is probably the forum I frequent which has the quickest intake of users (probably largerst user base aswell!)

I think so. I'd say we have more like 40,000 legitimate members.

A more accurate figure would be the member's list, which includes only non-banned users that have posted at least once. The number at the bottom of the page increases every time a new user registers.

No, I'm with you here. I think this is kind of cruel, putting him on a pedestal like that just for joining.

In fact, the last milestone joining celebration thread that I remember was locked for such a reason I think... if I remember correctly.

Then check the member list (sort by join date, find what page you are on, and count down)

Click on your name in a post you've made, then go to public profile. The URL will end in your user number.

Edit: Hmmm... That doesn't seem to make sense as grimbold has a number in the 52000-range..

Edit#2: I'm active user 12346 according to the members list. And I seem to have registered on the same day, but slightly before such notables on the forum as Cobra_Ikari and Hamishspence.

Too much of a hassle... It's actually in your profile (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/member.php?u=19501) at the end of the URL. You're 19501.

EDIT: Though I'm not sure it's actually numbered like that...... you'd have to ask someone who knows.

The real shocker about peoples join dates are the four people who've been here since 2017. :smalleek:

I'd just like to point out that the member number on each persons profile page is not equal to the number that would have been at the bottom of the forum page when we joined, as evidenced by the our famous 50,000th member, The Praetorian, is user number 58408.

I think maybe in the early days it just assigned a random 4-digit number. Later, they changed it to give 5 digit numbers sequentially. Just my theory.

As for the people from the future, I wish I were one of them. Imagine how big your posts/day could be if it always divided by 1...

26,232

Not really much to say about that number.

Maybe 2-Butyne-1,4-diamine, dihydrochloride, Which has CAS: 26232-80-4

(The 4 being the month I joined an the 80 bein the twice the product of the month I joined and the day I joined - twice because I am The Elder)

However, I am on the 1050th page
And I joined two days before smuchmuch, who is member 26266 and a couple of hours after ArcaneStomper. They're probably the most active members around me.

Not sure how you figure that out--if you sort the list by post count then even 5000 members in the people still have nearly 200 posts to their name, and I'd hardly call someone with that number of posts inactive!
