I've been wracking my brain trying to find this song, but I can't think of the name. as of now, the only instance of this song is here, starting at 2:07 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rc47LcvIxyI).
could someone please put me out of my misery?

LOL, I know how that goes. I once had a song stuck in my head for 35 years that I could never find and yet couldn't be convinced that I had made it up. And it's not like anyone would know the name of that song even if they recognized you humming the sax solo.

He did! But then he forgot to write it down and has spent the last 17 years trying to learn it again. Life is so unfair sometimes.

I did. I knew that it was a Scott Joplin ragtime piece, but every time I bought a CD of his complete works, it wasn't there. So I honestly did spend a large part of my life thinking that I had invented it having been inspired by Joplin's other work, until a year or so ago I heard it again between NPR news stories and was able to track down on their website that it was the Sunflower Slow Drag (http://youtu.be/fALqGCDrg4o). As far as earworms go, this is a good one to be stuck with for a lifetime.
