A few months ago, I started a Call of Cthulhu campaign using the Crimes People Play (http://www.hauntedattic.org/crimespeopleplay.html), which is a rules-light detective RPG. The rules are free on the linked website.

Unfortunately, I was smart enough to start my Campaign (and the original Journal) a few weeks before my end of term exams, so I wasn't able to update it. And then I forgot about it.

We're about to start up the campaign again, so I figured I'd actually write the Campaign Journal.

Call of Cthulhu is an RPG based on the works of the 20th century author H.P Lovecraft (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H._P._Lovecraft), the creator of the Cthulhu Mythos (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cthulhu_Mythos). The monsters are leagues more powerful than the player characters, or investigators, and combat is a rare occurence that can usually lead to the death of one or many investigators, regarless how well the investigators are prepared.

The players created these characters:

David Bouchard (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bon_Cop,_Bad_Cop) and Michel Beaubien, two stereotypical French Canadians who recently moved from Quebec to Wyoming. (This video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TncdhLGjFTE) goes over the major Quebecois stereotypes and is a parody of [URL="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRI-A3vakVg&feature=related"]I am Canadian [/URLthat you guys won't actually find funny unless you live in Quebec (and even then..), but it gives a good idea of most Quebec stereotypes.

Michel Beaubien's family was murdered a few years ago and he has no idea who killed them, despite intensive investigation. He had a wife and child, both were brutally murdered by an unknown killer.

The last character is Moriarty. He's a very patriotic american who's player is the only one there that can't speak French. He constantly gets into fights with the other characters and they have very different solutions to problems.
Also, he has two NPC allies who he calls when he's in need of assistance.

The characters have the following abilities:

Michel Beaubien: Gadgets (Has a variety of secret gadgets, like smoke bombs, camera in sunglasses, gun-pen, etc. as well as the ability to Macguyver stuff). He used the International Spy archetype.
David Bouchard: Diplomatic Immunity (He can get away with minor crimes thanks to his friends at the Canadian Embassy). He used the Odd Foreigner archetype.
Moriarty: I've forgoteen the name, but it allows him to sense when he's in danger (enemies ambushing him, stuff like that). At any time, he can ask me if he's in danger and I am to give him an honest answer. Using the Hard-Boiled P.I Archetype.

We've played the first two sessions and the third shoudl take place today, tomorrow or the day after. I'll post part of the first one as soon as I finish writing it up.
