A friend of mine recently quoted asdf movie "I Like Trains.(Train noises)" and that got me thinking, why not make a spell that can do that in D&D?

So here is what I've got:Power Word "Trains"[WIP]
Conjuration [?]
Level: Wiz/Scr 7?
Components: V
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels); see text
Target: see text
Duration: Instantaneous

You utter a magic phrase and a [train] magically appears and crosses your path, harming all foes in its path.

Select two squares within range; a [train] appears from the first square and travels towards the second rapidly, dealing ?d? damage to anything in its path. It disappears when it arrives in the second square. Any in its path can make a DC? Reflex save for Half damage. [WIP]
What do you think?

Please place prey prone (subsequent saves sans success).

So that's how Toon Town was saved (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVCtlYxD0XE&feature=player_detailpage#t=352s)! =O

Like I said, it's WIP at the moment.

Supplanting sublime rhyme, the train should have an overrun as part of it's attack.

Steam train or diesel?

...or you could just re-fluff the lightning bolt spell, and maybe swap its damage type to bludgeoning.

I was about to say, this spell comes from the side, not the sky.

Wouldn't make sense otherwise.

I guess it should do the damage as a thunderbolt, unless you want it to be stronger... i would make it stronger, seeing as a trains somehow seem to do more damage.

None! Because there are no buses in Gensokyo!

Fun. I just think it should be Summon construct (train) or something, instead of a Power Word. Just make the verbal component be "tchoo tchoo".

You're waiting for a train, a train that will take you far away. You know where you hope this train will take you, but you don't know for sure. But it doesn't matter. How can it not matter to you where that train will take you?

Most useless spell, ever!

I mean, everybody knows the train is never on time.

Stationary targets. Walls aren't going anywhere the Train will come-
your waiting for a train...

Stationary targets. Walls aren't going anywhere the Train will come-
your waiting for a train...

Walls can't make reflex saves (unless, of course, it's an awakened wall), which means they automatically fail the save, take full damage, and the train continues right through.

As for why it's a Power Word spell, watch this:

VIDEO (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRGGsHOBs98), specifically 1:54, 2:33, and especially 5:05.

The verbal component is, specifically, "I like Trains." with the train coming less than half a second later.
