Hey Playground recently I saw a post concerning what the theme music for the cast of the order of the stick would be and this got me to thinking what about other characters like the grim reaper the four horse men of the apocalypse and other such dark figures (I have been playing ALOT of post apocalyptic games recently). So what do you think what kind of dark theme music best suits the four horse men? What dose the grim reaper listen to well not harvesting souls (or hanging out with two kids)? How about other historic villens like Orcus or Asmodaus? Who could forget Grazzt or even the entity of Raven loft?

The Resident Evil Soundtrack is pretty nice, especially the "Marilyn Manson - Resident Evil Theme"

Besides Manson made some good Dark Themed music too (sleepy hollow too if I got this right).

Additionally the music genre epic could have some great songs like the suggested (Lux Aeterna is Epic Music if my ears don't trick me ;D).

Soundtracks to horror movies have mostly good songs for that. We had songs from Alien, Nightmare on Elms street, Halloween etc and it made the sh*t scary as hell x.X I was afraid to drive home that night... (this was no CoC/other iconic horror game just a "low" fantasy game called DSA).

else put a "scary music" search on youtube. It most likely brings some stuff up.

I think you should search across themes, Epic/Dark Epic/Classic/Goth etc.

Hope this helps.

This might be sutably depressing. Enjoy your tears. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MmIR5FC76bs&feature=related)

Now, for a true dark theme, I shall direct you to this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b75a-w6pLeg&feature=related). Its in G-major, but it is one of the few that actualy sound good instead of warped. It gets good around 1:30.

I'm old fashion in my view of dark music, it should be classical or at least classically influenced, in that vein any dark music thread without night on bald mountain is just wrong on a fundamental level. Mossurgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition also has various parts that sound evil, one of my personal favorites being the second movement Gnomus (pictures at an exhibition gnomus) though Bydlo (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUzRVVCLQKU) is also good.

There's also Totentanz For Piano And Orchestra (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjWFQ2NNrJs)

The well known O Fortuna (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNWpZ-Y_KvU)

Requiem Dies Irae (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqaARDsiJv4) seems more of a triumphant pompous evil so Asmodeus works for me.

And probably the most recognizable Toccata and Fugue (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ipzR9bhei_o)

My favorite more modern piece was already given it's credit with Dr. Epic.
