View Full Version : Music for a "prank"

So, one of my housemates is having a girl over later this evening, and I'm leaving the house, before he's set to get back with her... :smallamused:

I'm torn, right now, between using the magic of youtube to create a playlist of porno-funk and equivalent music or relying on the luck of the draw and using my other housemate's playlist in iTunes that is mysteriously labeled "Baby Makin' Music."

What are some recommendations for the youtube idea/things to look out for beyond Barry White if I'd bolster the iTunes playlist a bit? Or just a single song I should put on looping throughout the house for when they do get in?

The iTunes playlist

Undertow - Sara Bareilles (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bwu-YQ9ROpc)
Swing it Low - Morphine (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yklSZZBjbBs)
Sugarwater - Cibo Matto (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EN9auBn6Jys&ob=av2e)
Meet Ms. Banning - Bill Conti (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAUmZuvfIHU)
In the Dark - Tracy Chapman (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhGvVIISL1o)
I Like the Way You Move - Earth, Wind, and Fire (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6FC55sFcBRk)
I've Been Watching You (Move Your Sexy Body) - Parliament (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1FcI_brz54)
Everything(Is Never Quite Enough) - Wasis Diop (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWD25b4w8OA)
Boring - The Pierces (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_rhDYRrMXg)
Blaksnak Bite - C.C. Adcock (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVO0RHdlBrc)
Black Acres - Elysian Fields (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkgdo2o5x7M)
All Would Envy - Chris Botti (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_IA71jNku7k)

If you haven't guessed, my housemate's been significantly influenced by watching The Thomas Crown Affair. And, really, Pierce Brosnan can have that effect on people. :smallamused:

Alternatively, my other friend has suggested putting together a playlist of mediocre love songs like that one guy Tom in the Shadows did on That Guy With the Glasses.

I'd personally go for blatant sex music, but then I've never been very subtle:

Afternoon Delight (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpGRdX5sUAs) Starland Vocal Band
Why Don't We Do It in the Road? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KM02WcvlKn0) The Beatles
Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAjR4_CbPpQ&ob=av3n) Daft Punk
My Ding-a-ling (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gWMJLUbk10&feature=related) Chuck Berry
Love Gun (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trR5ROuf1Uk) KISS
Back in the Saddle (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDKxUt9UkmU) Aerosmith
Gimme All Your Lovin' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pi_ser2_Xm4) ZZ Top
Hallelujah (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrLk4vdY28Q&ob=av2n) by Leonard Cohen
Rebel Yell (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VdphvuyaV_I&ob=av3e) by Billy Idol
Let's Get It On (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=go_tRctLmbc) by Marvin Gaye
Baby Got Back (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=reTx5sqvVJ4) Sir Mix-A-Lot or Jonathon Coulton (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyJeC99QO8A)
Sit on My Face (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKeQpeDkoGc) Monty Python

Or if you're feeling cruel:

The Bad in Bed Song (won't link because of profanity)
Not Fair (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUYaosyR4bE&ob=av3e) by Lily Allen

And then, right in the middle of it, play the Sesame Street intro.

What, no "Dancing in the Sheets" by Shalamar?

I say you rig up some porno sound effects, not music, crank it to max, then hide the device.

You could always Rickroll them. Other good ones to add might be Tom Lehrer - I got it from Agnes (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEkZxaoebvk), Monty Python's Lumberjack Song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZa26_esLBE). Depending on how macho he is, the MLP - FiM Theme Song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXGQGsv8eBQ) might be a fun thing to add. For sheer strangeness awesomeness, These Ukrainian guys playing Hot N Cold (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcoekyMCWzg).

If the plan is to destroy any possible atmosphere what-so-ever I planned on saying pretty much any song from the series (bonus points for going older gen series), I would say probably Winter Wrap Up or At the Gala. Though I guess the theme works better as a move in quick kinda thing.

Is this whole thing to completely mess up things or just to make things more blatantly obvious or something else?

This is a prank, so I figure it is good to throw these things out there. But on closer inspection of the OP, it seems more on the lines of making things obvious.

Seriously, though... I'd suggest "Work it" by Ylvis. At least they'll know you're not being totally serious.

Well, it wasn't a very well thought-out prank, so I was pretty open to the flavor changing as suggestions were made.

Unfortunately, of all reactions to playing Barry White and the pre-made playlist, the guy decided to go with depressed and giving up. :smallconfused:

I'm actually home now when I would've expected to, y'know, not be able to come home.

However, I'm still interested in putting this information away for a later date so I'll be more prepared if I get ah... opportunity comes knocking again. :smallamused:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ. Please play this song in this prank. I know, I know, it's probably too subtle, but who cares? It's going to be hilariously awkward.

*this is the rick roll song btw, just wanted you guys to know that.

i second this. only it should be somewhere in the middle, so they'll be relaxing, and then BOOM, rickroll.

For something that would actually set the mood, maybe this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5AztWseIdU). Frankly, I might use this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7U1F-E9KLU), but it would be difficult to build a playlist around it and it's probably not un-subtle for the intended use.

For massive bwuh? reaction one could put this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNaEAiwlaLY) song by Isaac Hayes (it's about healthy chocolate snacks, but the refrain could be given a vastly different interpretation out of context).

For a sneaky rickroll, one might use this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pqy0Ykd8C1k&feature=related), but most likely it won't be even noticed.
