You all know the power structure of 4E- at-will, encounter and daily powers. Well I've just decided to make this alternative:

All characters gain 10 Energy Points at Heroic, 20 at Paragon and 30 at Epic levels.

At-Will Powers are free to use as usual.

You can use Encounter and Daily powers whenever you want, but you must spend energy points when you do so.

Encounter powers cost 2 energy points, Daily powers cost 4 energy points.

A short rest restores 3 energy points at Heroic, 6 at Paragon and 9 at Epic. a full nights rest restores your Energy points to full.

Rituals instead of costing money, cost Energy Points. Heroic Rituals cost 5 energy points, Paragon Rituals cost 10 Energy points and Epic rituals cost 15 Energy points.

item powers can be used at any time for the same costs as encounter or daily depending on its strength.

That is all. Feel free to modify any powers that restore the use of powers to give you energy points instead.

Erm... what is this supposed to accomplish, exactly? There's really nothing wrong with the AEDU setup as-is... and what would this mean for classes with the Psionic Augmentation feature, anyway? :smalleek:

RAW, this would probably make them more powerfull, since they get to use their dailies more without spend EP for encounter powers.

Oh right.

I would replace Psionic points with Energy points, so that the Psionics would have to spend energy points to augment their at-wills :smalltongue:
