And the 3rd round comes to an end! Wow, that was a vicious bout, huh? Anyway, let's start discussing the level up scheme, shall we? Obviously, the shapeshifter will gain his first form at level 1, but what about the other 7-9 forms? Each form will improve as he levels, so we can't give him a form at level 20 (there's no time for buildup there, there will just be a nonform capstone)

I have two separate arrays in mind, so I'll post them here, and you guys can vote for A or B. Also, I'm going to have you vote on the flavor. How is he gaining his power?

You get two votes. One for the Level Up Scheme, one for the Fluff. Both votes may only be used to vote-up. Write-ins are allowed for the Flavor only.

A skirmisher is a 3/4 BAB class that focuses on mobility and precision damage, like a scout. A melee damager is a full BAB warrior who focuses on dishing out damage, like a barbarian.

You can build a decent non casting necromancer with Horned Harbinger. I had a build which was I think Crusader 4/Paladin 2/ Horned Harbinger 2/Crusader 14. It worked decently well.

BAB 3/4 He's stronger than a wizard, but relies more on class abilities for damage. Full BAB is more for power hitters like a fighter

d10 I like the idea of the shapeshifter being more resilient to damage. I see this as a gimmicky fighter like paladins and rangers are

4+Int He doesn't need too many skills because he'll likely rely more on class abilities than skills. For comparison, rogues need a lot of points because they take Open Lock, Disable Device and all that stuff

Good Fort, Good Will He's tougher because he lives in nature and can take more hits before getting tired. I also associate supernatural abilities with will saves

Unfortunately not. The purpose of multiple votes is to get more and more ideas from the same person, but by limiting them to one vote per creature, the final tally is really a representation of what the majority wants. :smallfrown:

Only one vote tallied here. Remember what I said in the OP. Just because I'm using specific names here doesn't mean they're going to be so specific when you transform. A hydra is a group of creatures, and so if the hydra form gets approved I'd be adding as many different hydra types to the class as possible. So a vote for a hydra is a vote for the cryohydra and the pyrohydra as well. :smallsmile: Feel free to use your other two votes for something else.

Personally I prefer Blink Dog (free action teleport 1/round, can toggle blink on and off at-will) and was already voting up Hydra and didn't really want any more than 1 or 2 magical beast forms. I also doubt that the forms will just be "see MM/SRD" and expect them to have their own unique array of thematic abilities so I trust they'll make up for it.

Indeed. It's a non-caster, so don't be expecting something like polymorph or Wild Shape here. It's going to be more like the shapeshifter druid variant, where you get specific abilities and stat increases, not just "I am instantly this creature".
