Infernal Week! (March 18-24)

Hello everyone, Infernal Week starts soon.

This is a week of course, where everyone creates a demonic, infernal or generally devilish avatar of the lower realms, abyss, the nine hells, whatever you want to call it….what matters is that you be demonic and whatnot. and I will not be surprised if some of us are men of wealth and taste.

so go ahead, unleash your inner demon, devil, succubus, whatever….its all good, or if we are talking this week, evil. Just hang out, enjoy some nice souls, and watch what contracts you sign, lest makes you agree to stay a demon permanently….speaking of which, I have this bridge to heaven to sell you, only one-hundred gold and a sign on the dotted line and it will be all yours...:smallamused:

Starting today? I think we might need a few days to put together or request new avatars and whatnot before the week starts.

Anyway, I'd like to request a demon avatar. It would look like my current one, but with a red theme instead of a green one (hair is fiery, armor and weapons are red-tinted, etcetera). The eyes should look something like those of an IFCC member (orange or red colored), the staff would be a pitchfork, and I'd have a devil tail. Three green internet cookies and sig credit for anyone who does this!

Let me rephrase: I know succubi are valid infernals, but if there's the possibility of a separate Succubus Week, that would give another opportunity for a new avatar, whereas if it's now part of Infernal Week, I have to choose between 2 ideas. =P

My avatar's a scientist. Mephistopheles is the scientist of hell.

So, Mephistopheles (the D&D variant specifically has curled ram's horns, black hair and red skin), in a lab coat, holding a small animal in one hand and summoning hellfire in the other. If possible in a similar pose to my current avatar.

Anyone willing to do that one? That would be very nice.

This is an excellent excuse for me to reinstall CorelSuite. Although, I really can't guarantee I'd be able to change back from infernal again. Heehee.

It also allows me to fix my signature. I had no idea the signature requirements were so minute until my friend found the rule for me! (I have poor vision and needed help from someone to read the signy-up thingies because they're in colour and had no sound options).

I have begun to draft an infernal budgie avatar, and for that matter I am curious myself -- since I don't play D&D -- what are the key signifiers to hit to make something recognizably Infernal? I'm gathering a devilish red eyes, horns, bat wings sort of aesthetic, but wish to be certain.

A budgie with bat wings would be a bit odd I must say.

Most of the time people associate your list with infernal. Infernal is obviously a cousin word to inferno, so any demonic or devilish imagery related to fire is probably going to work well for you. A cruel beak, nasty talons reaching out to grasp at well, anything and rip them to bloody ribbons. You know, that sort of jazz.

Still, have fun making such a budgie avatar. Your description does fit 'infernal' for sure.

No clue how to make it. The Avatar is too small for me to look a the detail that went into it in the first place, it wasn't made in Inkscape, and the original artist doesn't have the file anymore.

I could just go for something simpler like a bowler I guess.

I'd say no. The week has been announced for a while now, and changing will be confusing. People can always get started a day or two late, as well (and often people keep their avatars longer). In the future, I'd suggest starting it two weeks after it's first announced, however.

Not gonna lie, I think I may love this avatar. It was really fun once it got rolling. Ahem. Infernal Warlord Zefir.

And by 'once it got rolling' I of course mean it became fun the moment I realized that normal avatar's armour... loincloth... thing translated perfectly into a crotch skull. Or whatever one calls it when the crotch area of armour is decorated with a skull.

My second avatar but first "Theme Week". Setting the rather sordid tone to come, I figured a schoolgirl succubus being menaced by a tentacle was an apt choice for anime week.

Judging by the attempts above, I clearly needed help. And delicious fruity help came in the form of Strawberries, who was nice enough to send me a template to work from! The kitty in the corner was a tribute along with the filename - all my main avatars have the filename "ForbiddenFruit".
