I feel like doing some homebrew, but I'm short on ideas. So... hit me! Give me suggestions! No promises that I'll act on any of them-- I'm sure I'll get incredibly busy quite soon again-- but I'll try.

Spellcasting classes that go up to 14th level spell slots, assuming all other classes are equivalently increased in potency.

Such as... a Wizard.

WOW. I've wanted to do a thread like this for so long, but I never got around to it.

A rune themed, self-buffing warrior base class with no spells but magical abilities? A 3.5 summoner from pathfinder with more focus on eidolon(s?) then the PF version? Just throwing stuff up here.

When I'm looking for inspiration regarding anything, I tend to go to the pictures of awesome things. Here's a few I picked up from Deviantart that may provide a spark.

Alternatively, you can never go wrong with something inspired by Sherlock Holmes.

Muahaha. I just had like seven ideas, so here's a couple.

A mage whose only powers are based around auras.
A primitive, possibly even prehistoric mage. Based around an incredibly basic, brutish manipulation of magical forces. No true 'spells'.
Pirate base class.
elemental changeling. A humanoid outsider that can turn different parts of their body into different elements.
True elf. The kind of elf you always read about in stories, with nature-magic, super-incredible senses, the ability to melt in the wilderness... Not some wimpy LA 0 humanoid. Possibly fey?

this?
a living society is facing destruction, faced by a clock work army(see tome of horrors). the adventures run into the resulting war front, as the society slowly sacrifices themselves to a meat hook to fuel an army. for a horror bent add 1000 years to the war, as the hook supports a soul farm of a town against the hammering of the constructs. two inhuman minds, no morals, and total war.

needs a third side: a living army creator. so could you brew a set of half a dozen minor monstors and a main creator thats like a darkyle+elder brain? the creatures just absorbs stuff and living creatures and converts them to aberant an aberant army?

Blood is power. But is it? Maybe the blood is only a metheaphor for the very meaning of life/death energys. What if a necromancer learned how to see these seeming polar opposities as.... the same thing. Feul his power with the very energies of life and death! The more that die? The more energy for them! the very plants beneath their feet become sources of eldritch power! And in the end, their reckless use, and endless addiction, drains the very world of all life.... In the end, all will serve as feul for the engine that is the now living embodiment of death, and it's twin life. Becuase, from the ashes, new life emerges....

A warrior who has honed his instincts to the point that he is able to perform simultaneous actions more quickly than normal, and without thought, allowing him to keep his mental capacities up and running during a battle.

A melee warrior specialized in single combat and formal duels that relies on patience, cunning, levelheadedness and insight to gain the upper hand against his foes. I'm thinking this should probably be a Prestige Class.

An arcane magician specialized in telekinesis and telekinetic maneuvers of all sorts and who doesn't have to wait until mid-to-high levels.

A Viking necromancer.

A little bit, yeah. I got ambushed by a bad case of work before I could do very much, though, then I tried to remake a crappy older class of mine (the Warclaw (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=215928), which was a hasty spin-off of my Beastman (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=213031)), which ultimately wound up going through several rounds of revision and turning into the Savage (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=240943).

This was fun, though-- there were a lot of cool ideas I'd love to work on if I had time. At the moment, I'm looking at my list of homebrew and wondering if I shouldn't just go ahead and make an entire "Tome of Nature," composed entirely of primitive-themed characters. I mean, I've got the classes I mentioned above, barbarian, druid, and ranger revisions...
