Making life easier for frontline fighters [Feat]

This is extremely simple in concept really, but would kinda work.

Numbness
Prerequisite: Endurance
Benefit: At 1/4 of your maximum HP or less (disregard temporary HP), all damage dice you receive are minimized (i.e, instead of receiving xdy damage, you receive x).
Special: You may take this feat three times. The second time you use 1/3 your maximum HP instead, the third time you use half.

Melee can take damage just fine. It doesn't need any help in that department.

Obvious questions:
vs. Maximized spells?
vs. Spells that roll enough damage to reduce you from more than 1/4 (or 1/3, or 1/2 HP) to 0 HP or less? Since you don't receive "damage dice", you receive one single effect that does full reduction, not X separate ones that deal 1dY damage each.

And obviously, the casters are going to get that feat, not melee.
