Beast Tamer

Charismatic Trainer: You use your Charisma, rather than your Wisdom, to determine all effects relating to your ranger class, such as bonus spells per day, maximum spell level you can cast, and the save DCs of your spells. Add perform to your list of class skills.

Command Animals: Starting at level 1, as a standard action a number of times per day equal to 3+ your CHA modifier, you can use channel energy to enslave animals and vermin within 30 feet. Animals and vermin receive a Will save to negate the effect. The DC for this Will save is equal to 10 + 1/2 your ranger level + your Charisma modifier. Animals and vermin that fail their saves fall under your control, obeying your commands to the best of their ability, as if under the effects of control undead (replacing undead with animals/vermin). Animals receive a new saving throw each day to resist your command. Vermin, being mindless, do not receive saving throws each day. You can control any number of animals/vermin, so long as their total Hit Dice do not exceed your ranger level. This channel energy has no other effect and does not stack with any other abilities granting other forms of channel energy. If an animals/vermin is under the control of another creature, you must make an opposed Charisma check whenever your orders conflict. You can take other feats to add to this ability, such as Improved Channeling, but not feats that alter this ability, such as Alignment Channel.

This ability requires the presentation of a whip or other appropriate training tool. This ability replaces all instances of favored enemy that you would have received.

Strong Bond: At first level, you gain the service of an animal companion, selectable from any available to the druid (though dangerous predators are preferred) with your effective druid level equal to your ranger level. This replaces wild empathy and hunters bond.

Whip Proficiency: A beast tamer receives proficiency with whips and scorpion whips at level 1. Additionally, you can push an animal as a swift action. This replaces track.

Training Whip: At level 2, you must select the whip combat style (see below)

Practiced Handler: At level 3, you can take 10 on any handle animal check, even if rushed or threatened. This replaces your first favored terrain.

At 8th level, you can push up to your Charisma modifier animals as a swift action. This replaces your second favored terrain.

At 13th level you can push up to your Charisma modifier animals as a free action. This replaces your third favored terrain.

At 18th level, You can take 20 on all handle animal checks with no additional time required. This replaces your fourth favored terrain.

Whip Style

If the Ranger selects whip weapon style, he can choose from the following list whenever he gains a combat style feat:

Weapon Finesse, Improved Trip, Whip Mastery (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/whip-mastery-combat), and Serpent Lash (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/serpent-lash-combat).

At 6th level, he adds Greater Serpent Lash (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/greater-serpent-lash-combat) and Greater Trip (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/greater-trip-combat---final) to the list.
At 10th level, he adds Greater Whip Mastery (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/greater-whip-mastery-combat) and Improved Whip Mastery (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/improved-whip-mastery-combat) to the list.

This is only my second crack at an archetype. What do you think?

Any ideas for things to replace swift tracker? It seems out of place after scrapping so much of the rest of the ranger abilities.

I'm aware that commanding animals is powerful and potentially abuse-able. Animals are more common than undead and there would be less stigma against using them, but they also don't have powerful spell-likes and such. Should a penalty be applied to the DC for each animal that dies in a given day, making sacrificing hordes less appealing? The ability to get more just by sticking your head in the nearest sewer and pied-pipering that rats could be problematic. Unless I'm over thinking it. A fireball would deal with the swarm of squirrels issue handily, favoring fewer, stronger animals.

Giving it one bump to see if there is any interest. Do archetypes not generate much feedback?
