Do you mean "really fat, while still very tall in height"?

The first one that comes to mind is Shrek.

Well not obese but certainly more of a keg than a six pack.
Marvel's kingpin is the first to come to mind.

How many roles has Brian Blessed played?

Also, Robert Baratheon, Mike Haggar (from the ballad moreso than the actual character), and probably some stereotype highland scotsmen, rowdy vikings, and the boisterous guy with the axes from Jade Empire.

Finally, anyone named 'Bubba' or serving as the dumb muscle no.1 henchman of an incompetent villain (the guy from the A Team pilot, the guy from the Jackie Chan cartoons, and the guy who was the torture in The Good/Bad/Ugly spring to mind)

Lastly, anyone who is the introductory opponent establishing the tiny and cute anime girl's fighting prowess.

Furthermore, any role played by Bill Duke, Yaphette Koto, Professor Toru Tanaka, John Wayne, Robbie Coltrane

Late Entry, pre-comeback Mr. Incredible

Luca Brasi from Godfather. Man was a freaking tank.

Barak from the Belgariad. Man seems to be half grizzly bear from the description.

You mean Tohru and Tuco? The sumo guy I'll give you, but I don't remember Eli Wallach being that tall. I'll have to watch it again.

I'll mention Luca again, only because the man's so nice he needs to be brought up twice. Well played.

I'll throw in Dredger from Sherlock Holmes, played by Robert Maillet. Ox King and King Yemma from the various Dragonball series. I feel like I need one more...

Oh. The mutant hunting Sentinels from Marvel comics. We are just doing characters, right?

I wonder how many people remember Brian Blessed in his short-lived stint as one of the Doctor's companions...

Okay, I'm a bit confused... are we looking for guys like him (http://images.wikia.com/fma/images/b/b1/AlexLouisArmstrong!LookAtThoseGodlyMuscles!.jpg) or guys like him (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/6/6a/Kingpinm.png/250px-Kingpinm.png) or both? Because I'd say there is quite a difference between those two....

Does big and lean count for anything?

John Coffey from Green Mile is pretty obvious.

TS could indeed need some clarification, because generally media, particularly movies are littered with tall, broad, muscular men, so by definition of "casually big" every other Hollywood movie counts. :smallamused:

Xerxes from 300. Dude was like 12 feet tall in that film. Either that or spartans are freaking tiny. See? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXaTcZWBfC0&feature=related)

He is definitely friggin' huge given both his baritones and ability to use regular people as literal steps.

Unfortunately I have not. He used to do commercials for a used car dealership (oh how the mighty have fallen). I haven't seem him at all for a while, makes me wonder how he's doing.

Though not big, he, or it, is tall and does require a good amount of cloth to cover many appendages. I submit the Slender Man.

There was a series of the old detective radio plays called The Fat Man that were just fantastic. The protagonist was a beefy BBW Hammett-style gumshoe and his girlfriend liked to eat sandwiches of raw beef and onion. The villains mocked him for his size, but he always came out on top.

Heh, come to think of it the radio station that used to air them would play the contemporary advertisements as well -- and I remember one for Ovaltine powder that said, "Do you feel yourself growing bigger and huskier every day?" and encouraged men to drink it daily in order to do just that. Different times.
