View Full Version : A Question for the Mods about the Dice Roller...

Hey there, what I've got here is less of an "issue", per se, and more of a query/request. It's a bit unusual though, so I didn't know where else to ask.

Right, so I was over at the Erfworld.com's forum, particularly the gaming section. I've got an idea for a play-by-post game there, but the problem is there's no dice roller over there.

So, I was wondering if I could "borrow" the dice roller here; either by hyperlinking a dice roller thread from a gaming thread on erfworld.com, or just running the (non-roleplaying) game entirely on giantitp.com.

If I can't though, could I perhaps take a look at the javascript behind the dice roller? I'm not used to web programming, but I'm sure I could rig something up if I was desperate enough.

If you're in need of a dice roller, check out Invisible Castle (http://invisiblecastle.com/). You can save rolls (and later look up all rolls made under a name, to prevent cheating), don't have to log in, and don't have to deal with the forums here shutting you out for a few minutes because of the load.

Orokos (http://orokos.com/roll/) also has exportable die rolls, though you do have to be logged in

Sheriff: You're welcome to run the game here, in either the play-by-post or freeform roleplaying sections, as long as it's otherwise compliant with the Forum Rules. Otherwise, I'd recommend you use Invisible Castle or some other online dice roller.

I should also add that the dice roller doesn't work on JavaScript, it works on vBulletin specific PHP. Even if we provided you with the code, it would be of no use to you.
